yeah, me too. I went to UNC Wilmington, so I caught a bunch of CAA games (did you go to a CAA school?). by the way, VCU representing the CAA in upsetting Duke was awesome. anyway, yeah, Pellot-Rosa is definitely getting a chance because of his athleticism. i doubt he sticks, but he's a pretty good baller. hopefully something translates to good football skills. cheers
did any1 sign jeff smardjiza out of notre dame. if no one did he would be a great pick up. or did he go to baseball?
The New York Jets have announced the signing of OL Robert Turner and the release of OL Nick Smith. The announcements were made by Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum. Turner, a 6'4", 308-pound native of Austin, Texas, started at both right tackle and right guard for the University of New Mexico. He was credited with 23 "big effort" plays, 10 cut blocks and 16 pins by the Lobos? coaching staff in 2006. Over four years, he made 45 starts. Versatile as well  All-MWC Candidate NEW MEXICO: Outstanding talent who is the latest in a succession of dominant offensive linemen to come out of the UNM program...had been overshadowed a bit early in his career by some of the Lobos' other elite linemen, but made a name for himself in 2005, earning first team all-MWC honors at guard...a preseason Lombardi and Outland candidate, All-American and consensus all-MWC honoree...he began the season at right tackle, but the emergence of junior college transfer Devin Clark has allowed him to move back to his natural position of right guard...was listed as one of the nation's top senior guards by ESPN.com's NFL draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. during the summer...did not partake in contact drills during the spring in order to allow a broken wrist to heal completely...suffered the injury in the 2005 season finale vs. Air Force, but did not leave the game...one of the premier run blockers in the Mountain West Conference and has improved his pass protection each year...a very personable and mature young man off the field, but is an intimidating, fiery competitor between the lines...is the Lobos' enforcer on offense who is one of the most physical linemen ever to come through the program...now the leader of the Lobos' gigantic group of offensive linemen, known as The Hitmen...is usually the first player to help his teammates up after being tackled and the first into the end zone to congratulate a UNM touchdown scorer...teammates named him Most Inspirational Player following the '05 season...has started all 45 games of his career and is tied for 5th in the country for consecutive starts...outstanding lower-body strength with a max of 605 in the squat...was a little overweight when he arrived at UNM, but he has improved his mobility greatly after dropping nearly 25 pounds over the past two years...is now totally committed to his fitness and vigilant about his nutrition...2003 Scripps/FWAA Freshman All-America Team selection...moved into the starting lineup at guard during the final week of `03 preseason practice...was on the travel squad throughout the season as a true freshman. http://golobos.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/turner_robert00.html Didn't know this until now..... Didn't stay long
MY FIRST POST! Alright, so I'm a brand new Jets fan and just a couple of days ago I graduated alongside fellow VCU Ram...Jessie Pellot-Rosa. I'm sure he's got to be somewhat of a longshot, but I'm telling you...this kid is all heart, and all character...not to mention would be a BEAST of a WR. 6'4 195? I'll believe the 6'4...but I've seen that guy in the gym, as well as on the basketball court ...from the first game of his career to his last...and he is a monster. 195? No. I'm guessing atleast 215. Anyway, I'm praying the Jets coaching staff gives our guy a shot. He's been a joy to watch on the hardwood for the past 4 years, the kind of guy that really appreciates the fans and gives his all. Quick story...I went to see a CAA v. ACC seniors tournament this year after we beat Duke (which happened to be just a couple of blocks from my house in Richmond, VA). I'm a mid-major hoops fan, and the diehards from VCU and ODU were definetly a noisy bunch that night...but needless to say the gym was mostly UVA and VA Tech fans. Anyway, There was a group of high school kids in the stands who were decked out in ACC gear (ACC VA teams, Clemson, Duke, Carolina hats, etc)..and Jesse was talking to them all game, just having fun with them, giving dap, etc. And come second half that group started up a "C-A-A" chant. Anyway, sorry for rambling. But i'm excited about the possability of rooting for JPR as a NY Jet. Great guy, hope it all works out for him.
Ihedigbo (6'1", 202) was a three-year starter at UMass and served as his team’s captain in 2006. He finished his career with 251 tackles (165 solo), 12.5 sacks, eight interceptions and 19 passes defensed. He was named a Walter Camp All-American, College Sporting News All-Star and Atlantic 10 first-team DB his senior season. Ihedigbo?? People on this board have enough trouble spelling Belichick.
