I think most NFL teams could fill 100,000 seats. It's just a matter of building a stadium to accomodate that many people, increase databases to keep track of (season) ticket holders, and find a stadium that can comfortably seat 100,000. It's a huge financial investment to build such a stadium as well as implement the corresponding information technologies.
I think most NFL teams could draw a crowd that big. Some of the teams that I don't think would be able to do it are - JAX, AZ, CAR
Colleges benefit from their built-in fanbase with close proximity to the stadium, motivation to go, and discounts on tickets.... If a school did not allow students to go to the games, no college would be able to sell out a stadium with 80,000 seats game by game, never mind 100,000, because the matchups in college are lousy, so most of the games aren't exciting for regular fans to go to... Drunk students will always show, and bring family and friends, especially when they get a huge discount...
The distinction here is that the Jets, along with many other teams, could sell 100,000 tickets...but only a handful of those games would have 100,000 people in the stadium. There are always no-shows and tix available for every jets game. I'd be willing to bet in a good year the Jets average 5000-8000 no-shows a game, in bad years significantly more. The Giants probbaly average a few less no-shows, but still tix are always available.
The Skins' I belive have over 90,000 seats iat FEDEX field and they are always sold out. If any team can do it they may be the one..
The Raiders had 100,000 seats at the L.A. Coliseum and were constantly subject to local blackouts of their games. They ended up blocking off parts of the stadium so the "official" seating capacity was low enough to sell out. I doubt the Broncos and Chiefs would have any problem filling 100,000 seat stadiums either.
Are you serious? Cleveland, GB, Denver and a few other teams have Serious following that would give them 100%+.
For example, in baseball -- the teams are going to smaller stadiums -- not only for the "feel" but because if you stadium is smaller -- your tickets become "hotter" and you can sell them for more. Look at the Red Sox -- smallest stadium in the majors, highest prices, hardest ticket to get. If you have 100,000 seats people wont feel the need to buy season tickets -- theyll just walk up the day of the game and buy fromt the window or from people "dumping" their tickets.
that could mean all the seats are filled so they ask the fans if they are willing to stand to see the game.
But only twice a month, unless they were reasonably priced, cos you're all dirt poor down there. :shit:
Colleges have built in fanbases, and in some places college football is the biggest sport in the area
Oh and it was reported today that the Cowboys new stadium will seat 100,000 and 120,000 if the end zone areas are used.
When they were good.... But i was referring to the link to the site that said last season they were filled to capacity.
