Several polls have revealed that there are between 50 & 70 members who own season tix. Do U really think Woody cares about the fans. His thinking is either pay or give up the tix or suffer thru the new stadium building program. With a 15 year wait list staring him in the face he can adopt & stick to that attitude
Short answear....NO. But that seems to be the way the entire NFL thinks , company man is our Woodster, "F' the fans theres plenty more where you come from attitude".
No more taking up two spaces for the tailgate and I bet they will have extra patrols to enforce it. I went to the Roger Waters show the other night and the Red Bulls game let out at the same time and it was a mess, the access roads are all broken up already from the construction dump trucks. It will be 4-5 years of hell to endure for season ticket holders. Good luck, I'll probably just go to Manny's and take their bus.
Jesus christmas, I missed the whopper. We got our letter yesterday as well, and I learned a fun fact. We take a small Winnebago to the games, and RV's will be hit with a $75.00 per game tab. The damn thing isn't that much longer than a crew cab pickup!
Actually it does say the 1 spot policy will be strictly enforced. People not adhering will be ejected. There doesn't look like any place to reclaim those spots until they demolish the current stadium if that is in the long term plans. Tailgating in the lots just became alot more expensive for the RV's. No gameday decisions to go to the stadium lots, you will have no choice but to go to the satellite lots and be bused over. # Of Tickets Per Account # Of Parking Permits 1-5 1 6-10 2 11-15 3 16-20 4 21-50 5 Over 50 6
Well when U own the thing 100% with no BOD or S/holders the fans of the team should expect nothing less
I'm not a season ticket holder (and go to very few games) so it doesn't affect me, but does anyone know if the Giants are doing the same thing?
I got my invoice and letter on Thursday. Happy Memorial Day Weekend from the NY Jets. I don't see it as a big deal, but I am concerned that if I sell any tickets or skip the pre-season nonsense, the buyer won't take the parking voucher and I'll be eating the parking. Also, if the weather is really bad (like the snowstorm game vs. the Steelers), I sometimes take the bus from Port Authority. Now, I'll be eating the parking for those games. Oh well, they have me for the tickets, why not for the parking? Any chance for a miracle that this deal will fall through and the Jets will still build a stadium where Shea is now? (I got a better chance of hitting Lotto and banging Angelina Jolie on the same night.)
I really dont think this was done for any other reason but the help with the construction. But I think they figure why not make a couple more $$$$ Its the preseason thats bullshit
Also, I usually meet up with people at the stadium. Does this mean that I have to meet them outside of the stadium area since they can't get into the parking lots without a pass? It's going to be damn inconvenient for people who are not ticket holders to meet up with me.
Here is some other considerations,,,is the parking "pass" going to be a window sticker,,dashboard placard or a bumper sticker? If its some kind of sticker and your vehicle is in the shop,,does that mean your out of luck for that game? What if it gets stolen,,are they going to be serialized or have your account number on it so it can be replaced . How about barcodes? Then they will have people at the gates scanning your parking pass to validate it. Its gonna be a fun season even before the games start!
After reading the letter that was brought home the other day, I dont think it is a big a deal as some are making it. The only thing Woody is doing is squeezing more money out of season ticket holders.
The Jets are going to possible be 0-1 in bringing a championship to Hempstead since making all these parking regulations.
Can any math majors out there tell me what 6 months interest on $150 bucks is? maybe like $5 dollars. This isn't about Woody trying to squeeze $5 of interest out of you. It is about limited space and trying to minimize the clusterf#%k of 20 thousand cars fighting for ten thousand spaces.
For me, the worst parts are: 1 - Like many said, when I can't go to all the games, I still have to pay for parking, unless my buyer wants it. 2 - The Jets are now getting me to pay to park at a pre-season game I will never go to. So, in addition to having to buy the preseason tickets that I'm lucky if I can give away, I now need to pay for parking. Maybe someone can go visit an empty space for me. Oh, and before I get flamed for not going to preseason games, since I live in Virginia, I don't have much interest in that long trip for preseason, not to mention the times of the preseason games are not usually great for making it up there. I guess this is all to warm me up for any potential PSL. That'll make the lost money on parking seem like pennies.
PLEASE forgive my ignorance, but I just wish for a simple clarification... Is that prepaid $150 in ADDITION to the $15 dollars we're already paying just to get into the parking lot (ie- $30 total to park on game day, per game) or is it simply that they are getting that $15 in advance (ie - still $15 per game, just beforehand). Again, thanks for humoring the stupid question -Rex
