Gulp , this isn't what I wanted to see. Just hope whatever it is is easily 'fixed'.

Jun 7 Rich Cimini, of the New York Daily News, reports...
New York Jets C Nick Mangold (undisclosed) did not take part in team drills Thursday, June 7.

yeah now im startin to think something is up. its one thing for a few days on a bike and just snapping. but its continued a few days.

lets just hope maybe he pulled a hammy and this is some cute patriot-esque schtick to hide minor injuries

Aw Jeez, I hope so...our O-line can't afford to lose its anchor...we're in bad enough shape as is.

maybe he came into camp out of shape? I think I remember mccairens had to right the bike last season for that reason?

If he's riding a bike, walking around fine, and practicing snaps, I doubt theres anything serious wrong with him. He probably just tweaked a muscle and they are letting it heal instead of making it worse.

I'm just hoping it's not related to the two minor knee issues he had late last season. Riding the bike is a good sign, but that's one of the few physical activities that's okay with a minor knee problem.

I'm OK with him sitting in an OTA in June. A training camp practice in August is another thing. I heard this a.m. that that Pats are keeping Brandon Meriweather on the sidelines this OTA because he has a slight hamstring strain, and they're trying to ensure it doesn't worsen now (a la Chad Jackson last year). So the prudent thing, in my opinion, is to keep Mangold healthy.

He's tough as nails, and doubt he'd be out of practice if it really mattered.

    Oh, joy.

Well he has all summer to get healthy I guess. If not we'll really regret not keeping the 59 pick when Ryan Kahlil dropped to that slot.

Looked fine at the charity golf tournament

He played in the fivesome right in front of mine. He's a really big guy and was very nice as well. Even got a picture with him on the second hole. He looked fine and was moving fine as well. Hopefully it's nothing.

I think taking candy from the baby could be a bit tougher.

Are you kidding me? You would really want to pick centers on the first day in two consecutive years? I don't normal jump on counter-factual statements (this is a fan board and part of the fun is what-ifing) but thats a HUGE leap.
