I hope D'Brick has locked himself in the weight room and will emerge on July 27 as the next Orlando Pace we are expecting. Anything less than 320 lbs and cut and I will be disappointed. I don't want to see him getting pushed around as much as we did last year. I'll give him the pass on being a rookie but I want to see him dominate this year.
If he finished at 280 and you want him at no less than 320, that's 40 lbs to put on. That's a stretch, don't you think? Doing it legally I mean
Last week he said he was at 297 . . . so don't hold your breath. I think the whole weight issue is overblown anyhow. It is more about experience, and I wouldn't want him to lose a step just to bulk up a bit.
Don't expect it. In an interview shortly after season's end he said he is jsut goign to use his first offseason to relax and recover because after his least year in college it was straight football ffrom the beginning of his senior year of college to the end of hsi first year in the NFL. He said he wants to take a break and relax and not get on any hardcore workout routines this offseason.
Oh yeah, and he will only be 23 for most of this season...wait till he is like 25 or 26 and starts to naturally gain weight.,...when his man strength kicks in I think he will get alot better in a hurry...
Who said anything about legally? Multimillionaire, fourth overall pick, just want to relax bitch better do what it takes or Woody's gonna have to come up with a lot of Band-Aids! *cough*Leinart/McNeil*cough*WTF*cough* No, I haven't given up yet...just sayin'...
eh I hate the sound of that.. He doesn't seem passionate about football to me. I didn't like the pick from day one and I still don't after year one.. I hope he proves me wrong..
during the end of last season he seemed to be tired (might have been the cause for his weight loss, too). No wonder since he didn?t have a break for about 15 months and is playing the maybe toughest positon on the field. If he wants to relax a bit, it?s ok with me. I mean, he?s known as a workout warrior, he?ll be in the right shape when the season opens.
The guy is going to play between 285 and 305 at best this year. He was fine last year for a rookie he just needs to improve technique and reaction which comes with experience.
Exactly. His body is not supposed to be that big. Players are at their max strength, speed, and weight for the combine. They have workouts and diets that are designed to focus only on the shit that scouts look at, which is why there are so many combine "workout warriors" that end up being complete busts. I'm not saying that D'Brick is going to be a bust, but I am saying that we will never see him play a season at more than 310.
Brick will get better-- he is under the coaching of the talented Tony Wise. With another year under his belt he'll do fine. If he maintains an average 300 lbs during the season he'll have enough leverage to hold off defenders. His arms are so long anyway that weight isnt a huge concern, its just technique he has to work on.
