2006-7 Jetsies: Best Veteran Acquisition Thank you to everyone who voted for TJB?s first annual Jetsies Awards. Over the course of the next week, we will be revealing to you who won what categories. Your choice didn?t make it? There?s always next year. Not surprisingly, in one of the widest margins, Andre Dyson won the award for Best Veteran Acquistion. Even though there were a number of veteran acquistions last year, there were very few who held starting roles for the season with the team ? most notably Dyson and Right Tackle Anthony Clement. Andre Dyson had 4 INT, a low 8 passes defensed, and 61 total tackles. Two of the four interceptions came in the season opener against the Titans, and his total of four in 2006, tied him for 18th in the league with names like DeAngelo Hall and Quentin Jammer. No one is was expecting Dyson to come in and put up ten interceptions like his predecessor did, but Dyson also played within the scheme dictated to him, unlike Ty Law. Dyson certainly has room to grow in the system, according to your votes, he was what the Jets needed him to be, a solid contributor for the majority of the season.
