If it wasnt for justin miller scoring on the kick return TD against Buffalo in last week of the season we would have the #3 pick and in perfect position to pick leinart
I was at the game, and I was just like all the other long time jets fans there- dont give a damn about anything but winning the game.
I'd rather blame Testeverde for coming off his couch to win the Bucs game. But, I'm not and wasn't a darksider, so I never hoped for the Jets to lose, but rather knew they were gonna lose and hoped the teams above us won.
You know, if joe namaths mother didnt get it on with her man one night, Joe Namath wouldnt have been born, the Jets wouldnt have won the superbowl, there would probably be no NFL, and we would all be rugby fans.:eaglessuck:
he did his job, and if you were in his position you would have done the same if you have a chance to return a kickoff for a TD for the first time in your career
Do you really care that much? I was pretty damn happy watching him run that one all the way back. Based on your dumbass logic, we should have lost to tampa and miami too, then we'd be getting Bush. Maybe we can lose all next season and pick first overall in 2007, would you prefer that? You're a great fan.
What bizarre responses. The original poster wasn't suggesting that Miller shouldn't do his best. Of course the players and coaches have to think only about winning games. But to say right now for instance that you as a fan would prefer that we had won the Saints game which would have dropped us to pick 10 I believe is just stupid.
I don't know about you guys but I was rooting against the Jets at the end of the year. I was praying for Nugent to miss that kick against the saints. We werent going to the playoffs so who cares if we win (from a fans standpoint). Obviously the players & coaches play to win, but as a bystandard I was rooting for the opposition the last couple of games.
I would never pass up beating a division rival. I hate the stupid Bills. Thank you Miller for that TD. And for the record, I don't want Leinart. I feel we can draft a QB next year if Ramsey or Pennington don't pan out. Let's build the o-line this year. It's going to take multiple years for us to be contenders regardless of a franchise QB or not so why get one now if there is even a chance Chad or Ramsey can ressurect their careers.
Yeah that's legit too, obviously we don't agree on our team's needs at this point. We'll just agree to disagree.
