Jets | Mackey traded Tue, 21 Aug 2007 12:21:03 -0700 The New York Jets have announced they have traded LB Jerry Mackey to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for an undisclosed draft choice.
As long as we have more picks to use to trade up and get immediate playmakers the better. Good bye Jerry Mackey, whoever you are. Did anyone see him play this pre-season?
Interesting that it wasn't a conditional pick. If they wind up cutting him, it sounds like we still get the pick since it's not conditional.
It could be, all it says is that it is undisclosed. If it is undisclosed wouldn't the terms and conditions be undisclosed also?? Just throwing it out there, not sure myself.
http://www.jetscentral.com/?p=515 haha, thats awesome. Got a draft pick for someone that had no shot at the roster. Maybe it has something to do with the Bucs placing two of their LB on IR
So...if we got a draft pick for this guy, who was probably a cut-down casualty anyway, why haven't we been able to get rid of Kendall? Seems to me that Kendall's still here because the FO hasn't been trying all that hard to move him...
WTF? Who is this guy? I don't care if it's a 7th round pick, how cool is that to pick up a guy from the street and them get something for him!
And as we saw this year, in the seventh round you could possibly land someone like Chansi Stuckey, or a little further back... Jason Ferguson!
haha this thread is hilarious. i was at TC yesterday, and ended up talking to a guy at the top row of the bleachers. he asked me about "a kid named mackey. heard anything about him? let me know if you see him on the field." of course i'd never heard of the guy... but, according to the guy i was talking to, mackey hails from freeport and is a friend of brick. brick brought him out to hofstra and lobbied the CS to give him a tryout. heh, weird.
