this isnt in the right section but i'm so tired of seeing the Vinny bashing, He was one of the better Qb's in the leauge. his tampa days werent so great because the horrible teams he had. you dont spend 21 yrs in the nfl if you suck. i guess some of you younger guys dont understand.. give vinny the team elway, montana, young , marino , and aikman had then compare the numbers and they all retired now and vinnys still on a roster. Vinny Should be in the hall of fame... favre and vinny are the last old school players in the leauge. just cause hes in a patriots uni you cant hate the guy. you all know hes a true Jet inside. now bash me for the HOF comment

Who cares? He's just one of a million guys who used to play here. Means nothing to me, but then I don't remember 1998.

Consider yourself bashed. Testaverde had one magical season in 98. Other than that he is a classic compiler.

He had a very good year in 96 and I believe he made the pro bowl.

the only thing vinny compiled are interceptions, attempts and contracts that were a detriment to the teams he played for.

In 20 years, he threw for over 3000 yards 6 times. In four of those seasons, he threw more interceptions than TDs. In his career, in this age of passing, he has 9 more TDs than picks. That is no HOFer. That is a long mediocre career.

Two very good seasons and a whole lot of suck and mediocrity does not equal a Hall of Fame career.

Testaverde won't be considered for induction.

Vinnie Testaverde, Richard Todd, Ken O'Brein: Good QB's at certain points in there careers that never got us to or won a big game. Why waste any energy caring if someone thinks they were crappy QB's?

vinny is #6 on the all time passing yardage list in the history of the NFL. Yet won't be seriously considered for the HOF. What does that tell you about his skills? You're right, this isn't in the right section. STFU

By having a great arm and staying healthy for the most part. Put those two things together and a QB will stick around for a long time. Look at Jeff George. That guy was a complete ass and he managed to last for over a decade.

John Brodie played 17 years and was the NFL MVP one year and he's not in the Hall of Fame.

    Huh?

Vinny Testaverde is the real life Shane Falco. He began his legend in the college ranks and that Transferred to the NFL "Chokes when the Games on the line" He may have had a different route if maybe he wasn't picked up by the horrible Buc's ; but that as they say is life. Also when you loose long enough and as long as he did it kind of becomes an aberration when you have a terrific season , the guy was due! I will always have my fond memories of 1998 but that's what it is a memory! Plus he's a patriot :gpc:

? Todd winning playoff games in Cincinnati (who was coming off a Super Bowl appearance) or in Los Angeles (against a Raider team who won the Super Bowl the next season) aren't big wins?

Testaverde winning a playoff game vs. Jacksonville isn't a big win? And ONE THING I WILL NEVER FORGET. TESTAVERDE PLAYED GREAT VS. DENVER IN THE AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. HE OUTPLAYED ELWAY THAT DAY AND WAS BY FAR THE JETS PLAYER IN A GAME HE DESERVED BETTER IN.
