exactly, but we can't force him to sign w/Seattle. That's all I'm saying. You seem to think that money will change his mind. Well, why hasn't he even listen or return any of Seattle's calls. This is a lot of money to give a player who doesn't return a call.
Trust me... show him the money and he will budge. Seattle has more to offer for the Jets as a whole where as if he goes to ATL, its closer to home and they will break the bank. Hell... he doesn't sign with Seattle come the beginning of Spring Training I would love to see him Rot on our bench. Wait and see who will want him next year if that happens. The jets keep playin hardball with this douche he will sign.
naw u can have him. i like houston too...i'll find another picture of chrebet...he's my favorite jet though...isnt it ironic he retired on a third and long clutch catch for a first down?
It least it's not like Jon Mcgraw man love *cough* 1028 *cough*, plus you're now the only one I can think of that has that avatar now that isnt banned CONGRATULATIONS!
cooooommmonnn how many games was that? 4? 14 OAK W 26-10 28 74 2.6 9 1 15 @MIA L 24-20 15 84 5.6 17 0 16 NE L 31-21 5 14 2.8 4 0 17 BUF W 30-26 16 55 3.4 10 1 Not that impressive bud. 1 game with over 25 carries and he didnt break 80 yards. Martin is not capable of carrying the ball 25+ times a game anymore.
and why is that...cuz he missed his 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th games ever in his career, just cuz he was injured for the first time doesnt mean he's going to suck. and its not like he had any help last year either, we had no qb to take the pressure off of him.
Translate that so I can give you an answer and hes got some weird ass disease that deals with over exertion as well... I like him as a breather back and thats it
It was rumored that Seattle was willing to offer what the Falcons were and he still didnt return their phone calls. Just because the Jets want to send him to Seattle doesnt mean bubtkiss if he doesnt want to sign. He has already stated publicly that he wants to play for the Falcons and no one else. The Jets have two options as I see them...Work a deal out with Atlanta or Bring back a cancer to the team. I sure am hoping that the Falcons and Jets come to an agreement thats fair to both clubs so we can just get this dang thing done. I am worn out over this thing.
W R O N G you make it seem that we dont have the ball on our playing field... well we do. Mr. Abe can't go anywhere unless he signs the tender, and this douche wants out so bad that he will sign with seattle come spring training.
Hey I am not saying the Jets dont have leverage here. Heck they own the friggin rights to the man. Thats pretty hefty. All Im saying is that just because they want to make a trade with Seattle doesnt mean its automatically a done deal. The man himself has to sign off on it.
Yea true... but what if we wont allow him to go to ATL and his only option is SEA? You think he wont sign? He could take him and his Freeney spin move stealin ass to the other side of the country...please! haha
He won't even negotiate w/ Seattle(aka South Alaska) & now Seattle is moving on signing J Peterson for big $$ w/ their dwindling pool of $$. Seattle needs their 31st pick to sign an offensive guard (Gilles). You'd be stuck w/ Abe, handcuffing yourselves for $8-9 million to sign any future FAs & any draft picks who actually want to play for the Jets, unless we get a deal worked out. Your new FO would be repeating the same mistake your old FO made last yr w/ Abe, that's insanity. Your new FO does not want him in NY & he has stated he won't sign anywhere except ATL. We'll get a deal agreed upon. Falcons 2nd rnd picks, in this yr & next yrs draft most likely. Abraham unhappy over stalled deal Tuesday, March 21, 2006 By RANDY LANGE The stalled trade talks between the Jets and the Atlanta Falcons have left John Abraham, the focus of those talks, feeling he's being "treated like dirt" by the Jets, said a friend of the increasingly frustrated defensive end. The friend said the Jets continue to tell Abraham what they want him to do to get the long-term deal he feels he deserves, then keep moving the bar. Last year the message was to stay on the field for 16 games, have a great season and the sides might resume negotiations on a new contract. He did that, then was told he would be franchise-tagged again, but that he could find a team interested in signing and trading for him. Abraham found Atlanta, and that is creating new frustrations. He and agents Tony Agnone and Rich Rosa agreed on a new contract with Falcons general manager Rich McKay, and in his visit last week, he felt as if the Falcons players had already "adopted" him. Fellow defensive end Patrick Kerney told him when the deal was completed, he'd recommend that Abraham, who wants to be a leader on his new team, be immediately added to the Falcons' veterans council. Yet Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum and McKay reached a stalemate over compensation, the Jets wanting the Falcons' 15th overall pick in the draft, the Falcons wanting to give up their second-rounder, 47th overall. Agnone did not return messages Monday but he told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Sunday that Abraham is "not happy." Agnone said there had been no new developments over the weekend, nor had there been contract talks with Seattle, which jumped into the fray by offering the Jets their 31st overall pick for Abraham. Agnone also said Abraham is intent on suiting up for the Falcons. The good thing about this three-way standoff is that although it is believed the Jets and Falcons haven't talked since Saturday, no one is walking away from the table. "I know we're trying hard to satisfy all parties concerned," said Atlanta owner Arthur Blank. It's possible the general managers have been told by their bosses, Blank and Jets owner Woody Johnson to keep the haggling out of the media and get this matter resolved quietly. BRIEFS: Unrestricted free agent Jon Runyan, the Philadelphia right offensive tackle, is set to make the Jets his first visit tonight. ... Well-traveled wideout-punt returner Tim Dwight, last with New England, came to visit Monday. His agent, Jack Bechta, said Dwight "is very interested." But Dwight continued to Pittsburgh on his free-agency tour. ... Cornerback Kenny Wright (Jacksonville) also met with Jets officials. ... Defensive tackle Monsanto Pope (Denver), who visited the Jets last week, met with Buffalo officials Monday.
