First I sat there in stunned silence, then I cheered for a man that has given his all for this teamtrying desperately to walk off the field on his own.

Anyone who cheered for his injury should be sentenced to as lifetime of being a Raiders fan.

Its not just Phil Simms, I'm going to say it too. You being happy that the starting QB just got hurt is classless. I would never cheer the enemy even getting hurt.

Just remember, all the "80,000 liars" are not the same people that come on this website. I like to believe that people who spend their time looking at a New York Jets website are a little more into their team than some random New Yorker off the streets. It's those random guys who "get a ticket from a friend's friend" and think they know everything about sports; whom instead of watching the game, get tanked in the parking lot and curse about how terrible our team is; those are the people that cheered at Pennington. Don't group me in with those people. I'd like to think you have more respect for descent Jets fans than that.

I was silent, then I was going to start clapping when Chad came out and Clemens came in, but people around me were louder, so I really didn't make much noise.

Oh woe is you. Pennington's only brought them to the playoffs three times. Cry me a river.

Your an idiot, woe is me? I dont spend thousands of dollars every year on season tickets and cheer my ass off for 1 playoff game. You stick up for Chad but boo David Barrett? Chad didnt give up touchdowns I know, but were you the same one yelling to replace Marvin and Mo when it was time for a change in their positions?????

    a) if you read my posts, I'm not the biggest Chad supporter on the site, far from it. But gimmie a break with the cheering BS yesterday. That's embarrassing.

    b) when did I boo Barett? Mind you he was terrible yesterday but i'm not one to boo.

    c) replace Marvin and Mo? When did that happen. Both guys kinda faded out and retired,,,, did it really come down to crying for them to be replaced?

    d) thousands of dollars on season tickets????? They play 8 games at home (with the pre-season 10). Thousands of dollars? Someones giving you a bad deal, no?

    e) as far as cheering for change, were you watching the game yesterday? Pennington was completing almost every pass,,, was their best player by far. Who the heck wanted that to be the change? If you want to cheer for change, you could have at least picked out the other 999 things that were going wrong.

If you were Chad Pennington, what would your perception be?

As a Pats fan, i know what my perception was, and I know what everyone else's was from the talk shows.

It doesn't matter what people say now, or what excuses are made. Everyone watching knew what that cheer was about. Especially those who know what was being said about Pennington by some portion of Jets fans BEFORE the game.

Perception is reality, the QB gets hurt, the fans cheer. What individuals say now is irrelevant.

    A) You dont know why they were cheering, never will, you cant assume it was all for injury.
    B) The Barrett thing was making a point, fans boo poor performance too.
C)Mo and Marvins last 2 years stunk up the place but were left in because of past accomplishments
D)25 yrs worth of season tickets adds up to thousands
E)Change can come from anywhere, a spark, a big play, anything. Although Chads insuing drive when he came back helped.

Bottom line, the Chad era needs to close, a TEAM needs stability at the QB position and Glass Chad aint it!

For what it's worth, I don't think they can get to the next level with Chad. I'm just saying the crowds reaction was embarrassing for a guy who gives everything he has to the franchise and plays hurt.

You KNOW their were at least 20 people on this board who cheered when Penny got hurt...

And of course they would never admit it, whether it be on here, on the air, or anywhere...Because they'd get berated.

So nobody is going to check "I cheered because Chad got hurt."

I was at the game and I was so pissed off when that happened.

It really makes me reconsider going to games.

Like #28Martin, I am not the biggest Pennington supporter on this board, but I would never in my wildest dreams think about cheering because Pennington got hurt.

It is so awful it is hard to explain...you had to be there and had to be one of those fans not cheering to understand just how awful it feels to be apart of that crowd.

    Agreed.

I've never cheered an injury by anybody, not Dan Marino's achilles, nothing. Even if it were Brady I wouldn't have cheered. Anyone who cheers an injury for a guy on their own team isn't a fan. As you said they are a fucking moron, no better word than that.

Sitting in front of the tv, I absolutely couldn't believe the reaction. It was surreal. Just thinking of all the rehabs that guys gone through, the playoff games. And then the guy gets that? Absolutely couldn't believe it.

I agree they cant get to the next level with Chad, its a team game, Qb is supposed to be the leader and instability at that position doesnt help one bit. He plays good, lets face it, he gets hurt to much. For those who blame the line all the time, nobody was sacked more than David Carr the last few years, but he didnt get injured every few games. Thanks Chad but its time to move to the broadcast booth like we all know you will. Lob passes and smart hurry up line calls only get you so far, we need a BIG arm. Smarts can be taught, athletic ability cant.

Never will forget Belichicks quote years ago, at one of these dinners in the off-season. Guy goes up to him and says, "so the Jets are looking good, they finally have a QB!!!"

    Belichick's reply, "they do?"

    All you need to know.

Lets not get to crazy here, the guy makes millions of dollars for all the "hard work" and rehabbing. I got injured at work and spent weeks in physical therapy for 65% disability and Im in the anti-terrorism field!
He gets paid millions to wave that towel around.
