Woody Paige and Skip Bayless who usually diasgree on most questions were unanimous on the Abraham trade... the Jets got hosed. Atlanta and Denver both were the winners in the trade and the Jets were the biggest losers... Same Old Jets.
Woody Paige, hahaha, ur going to listen to Woody Paige, that guy is ignorance personified. Its tough to listen to guys like that, they have not been keeping up with the negotiations as intensely as New York analysts. What would have been better? We wanted a first rounder, and we got it. ATL was not giving up the 15th pick unless we through in more picks, so they got more picks and gave up there 15th and the Jets kept the picks they did not want to give up. Denver moved up, obviously targeting a certain player, so good for them. Its a pretty fair trade all around. Abe is not worth the 15th pick, if I was ATL I would not have given it up for just him either. Nobody got hosed.
Atlanta got a premier pass rusher to bookend with Patrick Kearny plus two draft picks from the Broncos. Broncos get the 15th and their own 22nd picks in the draft.... Jets gave away the best defensive player on the team
Well if Woody Paige and Skip Bayless say it must be so. I mean Cold Pizza rocks yo!!! Paige is a tool 90% of the time and I have heard him say some of the most assinine things ever on ESPN. Give it up already. If all you can come up with is a Serby article and Cold Pizza to troll with, then you must be getting desperate.
Paige and Bayless are lovers. Their opinion means very little in society. Yesterday the talk was ATL was only giving up a 2nd round pick and SEA was giving up the #31.........we go out and get #29 and we still get made fun of. Culpepper went for a late 2nd round pick............hello?
Just because the Jets didn't want to include their 3rd and 4 round pick. Sorry oh great sports writers for a FO that didn't need to give up potential players for a higher draft spot. The thrid round is still a solid place to pick up players in this draft. Plus if we plan on going Mangold that is a perfect spot for him. at 15 we would get panned for picking him. At 29 thats pretty good.
Most people feel the Jets got the short-end of the stick. Steve Somers on WFAN last night was killing them. People bragging that somehow Magini and Tannenbaum pulled some kuo last night are ridiculous.
He might have been the best defensive player on the team but he didn't want to be here and everyone knows what a player does to a team that he doesn't want to be on. Why waste the money on a jackass! So do you think that Denver can get better players with the 15th and 22nd then the JETS with the 4th and 29th? It was a decent deal, we got rid of a player that didn't want to be here and who knows what will come out of the draft. Plus I think Vilma is our best D player!
The Jets best defensive player was Abraham, not Vilma. Vilma gets a little overrated on this site cause he makes alot of tackles. He doesn't cause the havoc or have the big play capability of an Abraham.
And that's the fallacy. Abraham wanted a long term deal and would have loved to be here if that's what he was given.
Truthfully, I would've been a tad scared had they both said it was a good trade for the Jets, rather than a bad one. Look up "ignorance" in the dictionary and a picture of Woody Paige will be right there.
Vilam is also solidly consistant in all areas of the game. He isn't one dimensional. For every sack Abe had - there were so many times that he overran the play and allowed a RB a free trip to the secondary. Abe is a phenomenal pass rusher. That's All. He plays the run like a Matador waving at a bull.
that was screwed up by Herm and the other jackass and not by our current FO....He wanted out after signing the offer last year.
