This team needs offensive and defensive linemen who would you keep and who would you get rid of?

Dbrick and Mangold aren't going anywhere - Clarke hasn't been awful but Moore and Clement have to go.

Defense - the whole line needs to be revamped

Brick looked very good today. Osi got one sack but there was not a lot of pressure from Brick's side all agem unless it was a blitz

Brick, Clarke, Mangold and Moore can all stay.... Brick and Mangold are making temendous progress and will be very good... Clarke is steadily improving, and I think Moore is better than he gets credit for... Clement is not servicable....

On defense, IF we stick with a 3-4, Ellis can stay, and Robertson can play DE, and we need to bring in a new NT

Kenyon's been holding his own...I think with a real NT in there, Ellis and Coleman will look great. On the O, two really big guards would help.

Oline - I'd keep everyone, just add to it and make Clarke/Clement backups providing good depth.

D-line - I'd keep Ellis, DRob and Coleman but HAVE TO draft a starting NT and another roleplaying DE

Ellis doesn't want to play in a 3-4 defense in the first place. He's on the other side of 30 now. It's time to find a new talent if they are gonna stick to the 3-4.

As far as the offensive line goes, Mangold is the only guy I really care much for. Ferguson has started to come around after sucking for the first 18 games of his career.

exactly what i think to a t...i think ellis had his best game yet, and i think drob could potentially be a VERY VERY good 3-4 DE if we can find a 340 pounder to clog the line

Ellis and Drob as DE's. Sign the NT from the Titans (blanking on his name) as FA this offseason

Moore has already been resigned. We definitely need a new LG. I'm okay with Clement at RT. Just like last year, for the most part he has been very solid.

I would also keep everyone on the DL. But we need to move Robertson to DE and get a true NT.

If you mean Randy Starks, he is not big enough, he is about the same as D-Rob. The guy I want is Ethan Kelley on the Browns. Look him up, he has learned from the best NT of all time, Ted Washington.

    Here is my plan.

O-Line: Keep everyone, but some will be backups. Sign a great OG (Justin Smiley) and draft a RT in the 2nd round (Gosder Cherilus), who will either start or go 1 year under Clement. Moore is fine as our other G for now, maybe in 2009 we can look into replacing him.

D-Line: Keep everyone. Move D-Rob to DE. Sign Ethan Kelley and put him as NT. Then a rotation of Ellis, Robertson and Coleman would keep all three of them fresh, and would make for a very good defensive front.

    OFFENSIVE LINE:
    RT: Clement/Cherilus
    RG: Brandon Moore
    C: Nick Mangold
    LG: Justin Smiley
    LT: D'Brickashaw Ferguson

    DEFENSIVE LINE:
    RE: Ellis/Coleman
    NT: Ethan Kelley
    LE: Robertson/Coleman

Yup, I already have it all planned out. That is two SOLID lines right there.

I don't understand the Jets could not run the ball today and you want to keep this offensive line. They could not stop the run and you want to keep the defensive line except for moving D Rob to DE. I just find it strange how many of the current jets linemen you want to keep I would get rid of Ellis, Clark,Clemment and maybe Moore. The lack of a running game bothers me, I don't know if it is the fault of the lack of a downfield game or that the OLine is just not that good. Plus the lack of a pass rush is really disturbing. Changes do have to be made imo

    Mangold, D'Brick stay.
    Ellis, stays

  16. O-Line: Brick- Working his way into being a premier pass protector
Mangold- Maybe the best young center in football
Moore- Average player, but comes cheap and is supposively a leader. Oh yeah he just signed a long term deal

D-Line: Coleman- has actually played pretty good
D'rob- If he can make the switch to DE. he's a good fit at that spot and would actually be a good "change of pace" player at NT.

    That is it.

long term on the offensive line Brick and Mangold should be the only starters who stay here. Clarke is a nice player but probably more of a backup. Moore is just nothing special. I think he's undersized and has made a ton of mistakes in pass blocking over the years. Clement is a nice pass blocker but as a run blocker he's just too tall and gangly. He has a difficult time getting under someones pads.

I think the question we all have is why can't we run the ball at all. I don't have the answer to that, I don't think there is one specific player who is at fault. I don't know any other team in the league that has no ability to push defenders off the line of scrimmage. I saw one play today where the giants lined up 3 of their 4 lineman on the right side of the line just begging us to run at the left side. I have to think a big reason we can't run the ball is brick and Clarke just not getting any push.

O-Line - Keep everybody. This unit needs to learn to mesh well. we cant just keep giving up on guys every year. Let these guys work through the growing pains together and become a solid unit
D-Line - dont lose anybody but add a guy like frank okam or another big guy and just rotate everybody. The two lines aren't as much a rebuilding job as most of you think

Mangold and D'Brick are clearly staying, and it seems obvious that the coaching staff loves Moore. I'd like to see Bender pan out to be our future LG, but as of now, the position is a need and RT is a need.

Dline. We have one 3-4 player, Kenyon Coleman. Ellis must go and Robertson is gone after this season I think. We really need a nosetackle and a big OLB in next years draft and a 3-4 DE to be able to play competitively. That is 3 huge needs just on the Defense, not even counting the 2 needs on offense.
