I just voted for Pennington, but as I begin to try and justify my answer, I'm not so sure. Chad didn't play in the Baltimore game, and it's hard to blame the New England one on him too much. And after that, Mangini should be blamed for not benching Chad. On the other hand, Chad was terrible, weather he should have been playing or not. So I don't know.
Chad's INTs in the past few weeks game were killers. He lost those games. We should be 3-3, 4-2 right now. Instead we are 1-5... and the season is over.
i blame mangini, cause if i was in chads shoes id be out there trying my hardest every week as he is and if i was in manginis shoes clemens would be starting and and this offense would be a bit more explosive
The coach is responsible for the players that play. He could've taken out Chad, yet he rolls on. Chad's play is terrible, but to say he is wholly responsible is giving the coaches a big break.
It has to be Mangini, he is the one that makes the decision. If Chad is hurting the team, the coach makes the call to leave him in or take him out. If the 3-4 defense is giving up 9 yards on first down carries and there's public outcry that our players don't fit the scheme, but the coach continues to use it, that's on him. If our OC is giving the big name running back the ball 12 times against the league's worst run defense, it is the head coach's job to instruct him otherwise. There is no other answer to this question, Eric Mangini is the man in charge, he is the driving force behind the decisions made on this team. Chad only accounts for the passing game, and our current record is a result of way more than just the passing game. People who voted Chad clearly didn;t think about it before they answered, or don't get it. Penning10toColes, your questioning of your answer makes sense.
Its Mangini's fault. It's his bad decisions the reason why we are 1-5. He continues to use the a 3-4 which doesn't suit our defensive game changer Vilma. We trade for Thomas Jones and then he doesn't use properly until today and that was because Jones actually had to demand during the week to be used more. Mangini continues to defend and start Pennington. His weekly gameplans are a joke. Sheppard was out today but instead of picking on his replacement he tries to pick on the all-pro Sheldon Brown? Not to mention the fact we gave Trent Edwards tons of times to throw the ball in his first start. Mangini might be over his head here.
Mangini.... Because anything you blame on Chad, you can blame on Mangini for not yanking him when he should have, after Clemens showed that he had some potential in the Baltimore game.... Add onto that Mangini has a hand in our D, and Chad doesn't, and it's an easy answer for me
Hard to say. I lean towards Mangini, mainly because he is the ultimate authority and he can bench Pennington at any time. Plus, Pennington only is a large part of the problem on one side of the ball. But I can't blame Mangini for starting Kellen up until the Bills game. After that, it's been just painful.
Pennington: Mangini doesn't panic on every play and throw a 2 yard dink to the first open RB he sees.
It has to be Mangini. Chad could not throw games away if Mangini was not enabling him by keeping him on the field when he is clearly finished as an effective QB.
Mangini for the reasons stated. Mangini has the whole "best player plays" philosophy that he's not even sticking with. Great thread, by the way.
more than 2 steps back fellas,, we had so much hope after last year,, realistically, if clemens is the guy, were looking at 3 to 4 years to be competitive, sound familiar.. at least all of you fucking drunks will be able to pay more for your beer at the new stadium soon...
I think it has to be mangini, he is in charge and responsible for all the decisions. Last year we all gave him high remarks for getting us to the playoffs. This years schedule is far more difficult but it doesnt look like he is willing to make changes to the defense or offense.
What the hell does this post mean? Why are you calling people drunks? Your comments don't even really fit together.......tr?s confus?!
It's a toss up for me but gave it to Eric due to him being the ultimate authority... he could put a stop to this at anytime
As much as I despise Mangini's decision to keep Chad playing, it really all falls on the playmaker, Chad had many opportunities to get ahead in each of these games but failed, despite showing up for parts of the game. I think he needs to take the fall, and not Mangini, at least not yet...
