It only works if it's legitimate. Like this thread, you actually WANTED the Sox to lose and it blew up in your face. I was actually hoping for an ALCS rematch with the Yankees, but was being realistic. And if anyone asked me after Game 4, I would have said the Sox would lose this series. After Beckett won Game 5 though, I was pretty confident.
