Harris and Barton are a good starting point for the LB corps. The problem is..it's a corps that needs to be very deep to succeed as a 3-4 and lacks a true playmaking force.
Yep - I took off my Vilma jersey and threw it on the floor today; I think the Mexican dishwasher picked it up and put it on. Its weird how every time I buy a jersey I go threw this after three months. I’m going to hedge my bet and get a gastineau jersey next time.
It's funny you mentioned this...I was thinbking every jersey I've bought, the player has either left or gotten terrible. Keyshawn...traded to Tampa Bay. Chad..no longer the #1 QB Vilma...hurt and rumored to be headed out of time. I am no longer buying Jets' jerseys. Just lame T-shirt and hoodies.
NFL players overall average a 3.5 year career. NFL starters average just a bit longer than that because they are most exposed to injury. The trick to buying a jersey is to pick a number like 83 without any name on it. Odds are really good it will correspond to a live body every year.
He had some really good plays today. He seems to have a knack for getting to the ball quick. 24 tackles is an astounding number.
All I saw was Clinton Portis shredding the Jets defense. How many of those 20 tackles were close to the line of scrimmage? Or were they all after the ball carrier had picked up 5 or more yards?
Two, maybe three. One of them came late in the game and forced the Skins to punt, which was a really good play. The rest? Five yards downfield.
Harris and Revis are two of the only good things going on with the Jets. I want to read one of those awful posts again saying how Tannenbaum screwed up moving up to get them. If he didn't do that, they'd have almost no good players.
Inaccurate. 11 of Harris' tackles were on plays of 3 yards or less. 4 more were in the 4-5 yard range. Of the tackles that were for greater distances, 3 of those were on pass plays, and one was a long scramble....
its truly amazing how much better harris is than vilma. maybe vilma has been hurt for 2+ seasons now and hasn't said anything. i wouldn't mind watching a game from '04 to remember what all the vilma fuss was about. i do believe it was justified at the time, as i bought myself a white #51 jersey. doh!
Get more? More what? Late round picks so we can get players who aren't as good? Trade Vilma for a second rounder and draft a linemen, either side.
I don't think that you can go wrong with a purple Adrian Peterson right now, except for the fact that it's purple.
