I agree. We did not have tacklers on the other side of the LOS on ONE fuckign run play, not once. It's a goddamn joke....but if Eric is the one that won't go to a 4-3, then fire him too

Stupid comment..if anything it just shows that our problem is not vilma or harris. Harris was getting blown up off the ball by guards just like Vilma was. Our defensive line is the worst in the NFL and cant move one O lineman. Our OLBs are also the worst tacklers ever. We need a new front seven minus Vilma and Harris period.

I agree 100%. I think Sutton is just a naturally conservative guy. He doesn't like to blitz. The one week Mangini said he was going to get involved in the game planning more, last week at Buffalo, our defense looked alot more creative and we got alot more pressure on the quarterback. What happened to the cornerback blitzes that were so effective against Buffalo. How many times on third down did you see the Jets just rush three down linemen yesterday. Anyone could complete passes with that much time. It's just ridiculous, this guy doesn need to go. Get someone aggressive calling the plays, especially if you're going to be playing the 3-4. That's the benefit of playing a 3-4, you can disguise your blitzes better. Our team plays a 3-4, but hardly ever blitzes. How the f--k does that make sense.

 

296 F#$%ing total rushing YARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the LOVE of GOD.... it doesnt matter who the QB is with a defense like this. Throw in Montana, Stauback, Marino... wouldnt matter. We would still lose miserably. CP never lost us a game... it has ALWAYS been the defense folding in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Dont get me wrong, Im glad KC is there now. But I truly believe the defense is a much bigger problem than the QB play. And the thing that pisses me off even more the defense is that the CS just DOESNT seem to get it. Praying for a return of Donnie Henderson

Honestly, I agree with the poster, sort of. Sutton may have a good scheme and may be able to dial up some half way decent defensive plays during a game but he simply does not seem to have the fire lit under these guys butts, and also does not seem to have a good enough grasp on development of our young players. If a marked improvement is not seen from game to game then IMO a change absolutely needs to be made.

 

Well the good thing is we will have a weak schedule next season, just how we like it.

 

Bring a young gun in to run this defense. Someone creative like Mangini, Tannenbaum, and Schott. Don't be surprised to see another 30 something to become our DC next year. Sutton was just given a shot to see if he could muster the game plan and he cant now its time for a new DC with a new improved defense next year.

Thee are only 2 games determined by the place you finish in, it's not like the pre-expansion days(pre Jax/car expansion) where you'd get a real easy sched the next year and regardless of that we have had an easy sched this year and have stunk.
