The flea-flicker wasn't shocking. Thirty carries from Thomas Jones was. Schottenheimer play-called last game very out of character, wouldn't you say?

It's almost like Schottenheimer is deliberately attacking teams' strengths. Over fifty pass plays against the Redskins secondary two weeks ago? Thirty carries from TJ against the most consistent run-stuffers of the era? They call that cojones, south of the border.

Hell I say keep it up! What are the Cowboys defensive strengths and how can we best exploit them?

I'd personally like to see Leon get more carries than 1-2 a game. Especially now with teams kicking away from him, we have to get him the ball.

I still hate Schottenheimer. He makes some of the dumbest play calls on 3rd downs that I have ever seen in my life. It's been all season long. Can't stand this guy.

I thought the play-calling was really bad myself. I liked the scripted drive and then suddenly everything was inside 15 yards again and the stretching stopped.

The Jets should be throwing the ball 30+ yards at least once per drive and often on 1st down. They'd need to rotate receivers fairly often to keep them fresh but they'd be wearing down the DB's also and the defenses would have to compensate by playing deeper, opening up the run.

They are really hurt by not having Coles at the moment. No one is scared of Jmac or Smith and you can double team Cotchery. The Jets offense is in transition from what worked with pennington what works with Clemens. There are countless routes that they could not run with Pennington that they can run with KC.

He has to get creative and don't over think on 3rd & 1/4th & 1 situations. Not having Coles is gonna kill us IMO, also he has to get TJ carries even if we get pushed back....don't abandon the run!!.

Actually, Shotts is going to establish the run no matter what. Maybe he still think he has Chad behind center and therefore won't roll out and/or throw downfield. Oh well, back to the drawing board I guess..

Because we don't want to be bad for a generation?

When your QB loses it you move on. As a veteran of watching the Jets stumble through 3 seasons with Joe Namath at the helm and then be bad for 5 more I feel like a reasonable authority on this point.

    Shottenheimer Sucks

Shottenheimer is a complete bozo. He is only in the league because of nepotism. Taken on his job performance alone, he would be washing dishes or collecting garbage. He calls plays that are incredibly predictable & unsophisticated. I have seen high school football games with five times the sets & plays that this team shows each Sunday. Shottenheimer runs a Pop Warner level offense in the pro's. I felt bad for Clemens today, each series was two 2 yard runs & a five yard pass on third & 6. Hackett was a genious compared to this guy, no joking.
The Jets do not have a true impact back right now, since this is the case they should try a 2 back set with plenty of play action, counters & traps. At least this would offer some hope of scoring. Right now there is none. Einstein once said that insanity is doing the same thing over & over the same way & expecting a different results, I think he had the Jets offense in mind when he made this statement. Actually, he died in 1955 & the AFL formed in 1959, so I could be wrong.
This letter was brought to you by a frustrated Jets fan with 35 years of pain behind him & plenty more to come in the future, as it looked today.
