The Jets wont waste their #4 pick on D'Brick when they dont need him. They will draft Mario Williams with their #4 pick.Yes they did sign Kemo V. Oelhoffen to a 3 year deal but he is getting old at thomas just wont cut it. With their #29 pick they will draft Ryan O'Callaghan. This kid could be are franschise RT he is 6'6 344lbs. He is a beast. He is good at pass blocking and Run blocking. I Think the Jets will take him at 29. Then the Jets #35 pick they will take Nick Mangold. Nick is good at pass blocking and run blocking. He will be are Franchise Center for pelnty of years and so will O'Callaghan. The Jets may sign a G to take kendalls spot since he is getting old or they might pick up a guard in next year draft. The guard isnt a need that needs to be addressed now. The OL will look something like this Jones, Kendall, Mangold, Moore, O'Callaghan. Do you guys agree or disagree
Ryan O'Callaghan He is a good RT. IT would be wise to take him at 29 or 35. He could help are line tremendisly. He is good at protecting the QB. Would love to see him in green and white.
ummm.....what makes you think that mario williams will be there at 4, Saints are going to take him if they cant trade out of the spot
Ok...you know reading this jumble of words is kind of annoying...all right its really annoying especially since this post is completely meaningless. Like the poster above, Mario may well be gone with the 2 overall. So to replace that, I'd draft hawk. But where you really go wrong is saying that Mangold will go after O'Cal. IF the Jets do pick those players (which they very well may) then they will draft Mangold at 29 before the Saints get him, at 33. 4) Hawk 29) Mangold 35) Ocallagan. I'd love that.
I am right there with you on O'Callaghan... But I am pretty sure he'll last into the second and maybe the third.
This may be insane and may never be considered by the FO BUT would it be possible for Adrian Jones to move inside to guard? O'Callaghan's bio says he may move inside to guard in the NFL and he is not the athlete Jones is... any thoughts?
Mangold will go before O'Callahan. I like Ocallahnas size but he doesnt project well as an NFl tackle. Not athletic enough. Hence he will probably play G, where he can maul people with his massive size. I like him we do need someone like that. A bit injury prone as well I think he can easily be got at 35..maybe even later U and the Jets...I've kinda realized the same thing; that the Saints are our biggest threat against getting Williams..kinda scary, b/c then we may get forced into going after a QB..just because. If not the Fo will probably start considering offers from teams attempting to trade down (Raiders, Minnessota, etc.). If williams is gone what about DT NGOTi, or whatever?
yeah I know I dont think the saints are trading down, because they dont want to go down past us because then they know that we will most likely grab mario williams, and I am hoping we dont get forced into taking a QB, but it could happen. the kid from oregon that your talking about seems like he is falling a little bit, ive heard that the D tackle from Florida St. could get picked before him now. Ngata is just a huge body I think he is like 6'5 and way over 300, but I dont really want him. I mean there seems like their is 2 definite stars in the draft that we are going to be able to get. Ferguson or Williams, which ever we go with I will be ok with. Because we will need help at LT and DE, so I will be ok going with either one.
so would i, so would i. vilma/hawk=fastest, best young linebacking group in the league (although i wouldnt mind mario williams) mangold and ocallagan helps out the line tremendously for years to come (although i dont think mangold will be there at 29)
Forget all this talk about the O-line. This years draft is full of great players; it would be stupid to focus so exclusively on the offensive line. Of course I wouldn't mind drafting a few linemen this year, but let's not get out of control here. All this talk about Mangold and tackles such as O'Callaghan etc............most of the people posting on here have never even seen these kids play in an actual game. Stop the o-line hype, draft players that will make the biggest difference to the team. It would really disturb me if the jets used 2 of the first 3 picks on OL........I would probably throw-up actually. With this deep of a class, there is absolutley no need to draft a lineman unless he is the best available player at the time of the pick. Colledge, Scott, Ferguson, McNeill, O'Callaghan, Trueblood, Justice, Winston, Whitworth; all these names available........look at all these players.......someone will fall to us eventually. Be patient.
You did realizxe that our O-Line was by far the weakest link on our team last year...the cause of our inept offense, of our QB's getting pounded, and ultimately our defense having to be on the field all game due ineffective run blocking by our O-line. I understand that this draft is deep at many somewhat needy positions for us (CB,LB,RB), but I think we need to suck it up and draft for the OL...which we have neglected for far too long. Plus we are minus our ALL Pro Tackle.
i think we should take a defensive stud, an offensive playmaker(hopefully rb), and an olineman in that order with our top 3 picks, barring any studs dropping
Get Over Vernon Davis!!!! We already have 4TE's on the roster, and it is not a position of need with Baker Re-Signed... and Gilles doesn't make it to the second round... except in fantasy land Ellis
