Why are we looking at mario williams when we are running a 3-4 with 2 healthy DE's already. I say we trade down to detroit and pick up there 40th pick.
We can take care of business at 9. The top 10 is most likely bush, leinart, m williams, young, brick, ngata, davis, hawk, huff, and justice. We could pick up davis at 9 if san fran dont pick him up. I saw we trade chris baker for a 3rd or 4th draft pick. With the 29th and 35th pick either lawson mangold or mangold lawson. At 40th we could also pick thomas howard or O'callahan.

I disagree with m williams because its a replacement for abe and we got that covered already. I say we trade down

Mario Williams is a player who would dominate in our system. We will switch up looks all the time. He would play DE in a 4-3 and i feel in a 3-4 he could play OLB. He ran a 4.66 which is better that Shaun Marriman (sp? sorry).

Moving down to 9 we could grab D. Williams, acquire a 2nd (plus a 3rd or 4th rounder. In rounds 2-4 we could focus on OL. Seems to make sense to me. I like M. Williams a lot as a prospect but I am a fan of depth more than grabbing a single guy. Plus I thought I read somewhere that M. Williams has a tendency to take off plays. That makes me a little nervous after he gets his bank...

Mario Williams would be fine as a DE in the 4-3 and the 3-4 as NC State played both last season (with Manny Lawson as the tweener). I understand that Ellis is the 1 3-4 end but who is the other? You believe that Kimo Von Whatever is going to play for the next 5-10 years there? No way. Bring in Mario and let him play as a 3-4 end.

I picked trade down to the Lions in the poll because having 4 picks in the top 40 would be insane... but I doubt they would do this as they have a lot of holes to fill and we will likely stay put and go with Super Mario.

We are running the 3-4 right? So that means we need more linebackers than Defensive Linemen. Go with A.J. Hawk 4th overall.

It hasnt been announced that we're going to run the 3-4... its all speculation

I think that we will be a hybrid defense. Run the 3-4 and the 4-3 most plays, and throw in the 5-2 to mess with QBs minds. If that is the case, then Mario Williams could be a great pick; DE in the 4-3 and 5-2, and with his size & athleticism he could either play OLB or DE in the 3-4

AT THE #4 spot we can take the best player available the top 5 or 6 players all address our needs and any combo will be a great addition .... of course everybody will complain no matter what or who we pick
    D'Brick
    Williams
    Cutler
    Hawk
and Bush (longshot).................What do you think?

Lawson and Mangold will be gone by #35, we can get one or the other at #29 though. I think Pittsburgh will take whomever we don't.

Also, no one is going to trade for Baker. Think this through buddy. He was just a FA and got 0 interest. Why would people suddenly want him? Especially if they have to throw in a pick to secure him?

Exactly if this draft is so deep what makes any one think that teams are going to give away the store to move up 5 or 6 spots? If someone is absolutely in love with Young or Cutler of Leinart and they fall to 4 that may be the time to make a move. That may not happen until right before we pick.

What I think the jets should do is keep there #4 overall pick. I love Mario Williams, I think he's a great DE and I think he could be the next Peppers, but if this is true that were gonna be runnin the 3-4 Super Mario would be a waste of a pick. Can you name any great 3-4 DE'S? I know I can't. The 3-4 is all about having a great linebacker core, and a massive NT. This is why I think the jets should just pick AJ Hawk. He would be a great addition to the defense. I just don't think adding Mario Williams would help the team.:pats_suck:

now mario is good don't get me wrong but come on its obvious we running a 3-4 lets trade down to detroit and pick up some picks. At 9 we got some possibilities. I dont know about yall but I dont want any rb besides Reggie Bush. So that leaves me with V Davis we can pick up mangold and lawson later and if lawson is gone we get thomas howard 6'3 235 4.42

Do you really think oelhoffen is our long term solution? He was signed to play yes, but he is also there to help ellis mentor williams, i mean he can bring the experience of a long time vet and champion to williams and will make him a much more understanding and better player.
