Keep in mind the Jets gave Vilma the opportunity to seek a deal. He probably got an offer from the Saints and wanted to play there. I'm confident the Jets stayed true to their word and worked out the compensation to make it happen. Vilma either got a lesser offer from Detriot (if one was made) or flat out didn't want to play there.
No thanks on Walker. He is coming off a knee tear that kept him out of most of the season. When he came back he tried to play but obviously was slow. 'Mike Shanahan, among others, has suggested that Walker's right knee problems will eventually result in microfracture surgery. Any deal for Walker would likely involve a conditional draft pick, but he's a better bet to get released than traded.' ~Rotoexperts~ Get someone healthy.
question: if we trade robertson how does that effect his cap # is it still 12 million? how does this work?
i doubt well get anything more than a 2nd for him high hopes for a talented player though and ps, javon walker does not suck, hes still an EXTREMELY dangerous deep threat
Now i really think Robertson will go to Denver. BENGALS BAG ROGERS by Michael David Smith Michael Smith of ESPN.com is reporting that the Detroit Lions have traded defensive tackle Shaun Rogers to the Cincinnati Bengals. No word is out yet on what the Lions got for Rogers, who had been on the trade block for several weeks and had been rumored to be heading to the Jaguars, Jets and Broncos, among other teams. For the Bengals, acquiring Rogers gives them just the kind of big defensive tackle head coach Marvin Lewis has always employed in his defense. The 340-pound Rogers is in the mold of Sam Adams and Tony Siragusa, the huge defensive tackles who played for the Super Bowl-winning Ravens team on which Lewis served as defensive coordinator.
Thats not even the worst of Bradway's work- Remember when we sent Oakland a first rounder for Doug Jolley- Bradway was a complete disgrace. Only reason he ever drafted some decent players in round one is because he followed Mel Kiper's mock draft to the letter .
Depends on how it was structured. Whatever signing bonus still being prorated is still counted against our cap but the rest goes with him.
To be fair, that was a two for one deal. We traded a late first for an early second and Jolley. We only moved down like 16 spots, and got Nugent with the pick. Sadly, Jolley was a bust. If he had panned out the trade looks terrific on paper.
