eh, after his rookie year, i noticed some glitches in his play (lack of speed, poor angles, etc), and then last year he shared time with Elam who shouldn't be starting. Smith looks like he has the tools but i wouldn't be opposed to drafting someone who could beat him out in an upgrade.
Bing doing great in Green Bay... It would be nice to see Coleman do great in Atlanta, but I will admit... I get jealous when I see players leave the Jets and do great somewhere else...
it's not that i get jealous; it's that it makes our FO and Coaches look incompetent. however, i really don't foresee Coleman turning into anything special in Atlanta or anywhere else for that matter. he's been a pretty average player ever since his rookie year ended.
Coleman was good with us for a couple season then i dont know what happened with him and Mangini but good luck in Atlanta.
Coleman, 25, was a fifth-round pick by the Jets in the 2004 draft. He recorded at least 100 tackles in each of his first three seasons, but fell off with the Jets last season and plummeted to the bottom of the depth chart. ---- Just write it off as yet another guy whose productivity dropped when he went into mangi's system.
Best of luck, Eric. He was a lot of fun to watch on the Jets... Little known fact, my brother tried to order me an Eric Coleman jersey in 2005 but NFL.com put it on backorder and it never became available again... Kinda happy I don't have it now.
I almost never wish any former Jet ill-will (with the notable exception of Abraham) but personally I didn't think this guy was a productive member of our team.
I loved him as a rookie...I wish him all the luck in the world. He really wasn't a bad player, he just didn't keep growing like we all hoped.
In his defense, He didn't say all of em, Just pointed out another who did. I see it as another young body who Left the pathetic JETS.
