(sorry if this was already posted. merge if necessary) this sounds encouraging, yet at the same time concerning and contradicting. Jenkins wanted out of Charlotte and got that so he should be happy in THE big city. sure, i want the guy to be happy off the field so he'll produce on the field, but i don't want the guy distracted because he's living in a more exciting place. he wasn't robotic like Fox wanted, so he disliked how he was unable to voice his opinion; however, from what I understand, Mangini wants his players the same way - robotic - so that may not bode well. i'm optimistic about Jenkins, but there's still enough that can go wrong before we can really say he solves our DL problems. i guess we need a wait-and-see attitude. http://myespn.go.com/blogs/hashmarks?archiveId=5&start=46
i also think he'll be a beast if he stays healthy. and im hoping he'll be happy here. it just seems like he didn't like Fox for a philosophy that Mangini shares, ya know?
He may not make the Pro Bowl for the simple fact he's a 3-4 NT... Who really wont have the BEST STATS in the world, but a HUGE NT frees up alot of space for the LB's to make plays... I look foward to watching D.Harris have a monster year, Harris may just make the Pro-Bowl BECAUSE OF Jenkins
OK, but there seems to be holes in this "prediction", no? First, the writer admits that Jenkins gets bored. However, the NT is a relatively skill-less position, and i've seen other people comment that he is MORE likely to get bored as a NT than a DT. Also, they mention how he didn't like being a robot under Fox towing the company line. However, isn't that exactly how Mangini runs his team. I think the team has been under much more discipline than most other teams. Does that mean that he's going to be angry when he is forced to make the meek comments that our players do during the post-game media comments. I'm not saying that I wasn't thrilled when Jenkins came by (although I'll refrain from using the B word that is abused on this board). But lets not put any stock in this "prediction".
He alrady stated in an interview that he's looking foward to being the BIG MAN in the middle of this L-Line as the anchor, he's gonna be just fine and he will bring a great attitude
I agree, I saw that in the New York Times today. I was just commenting on this article's points though. I still believe the prediction is silly for the reasons he states.
