    SS: Rhodes FS: Elam/Smith
CB1: Revis, Miller, Woolfork CB2: Poteat, Barrett, Coleman
OLB: Thomas, ILB: Harris, Barton, Kassell OLB: Pace, Bowens
DE: Robertson, Ellis, Brown NT: Jenkins, Pouha, Mosley DE: Coleman

LT: Ferguson LG: Faneca, Montgomery C: Mangold, Smith RG: Moore, Bender RT: Woody
WR2 Cotchery, Wright, Clowney TE: Baker, WR1: Coles, Smith, Stuckey
QB:Clemens, Pennington, Smith RB: Jones, Washington FB: Kowalewski, Posiak, Tutt

    LS: Dearth
    K: Nugent
    P: Graham
    KR: Miller, Washington
    PR: Washington

This is sitting at 46 players who have a strong possibility being on the team this fall

    Position/Key Player
S - Rhodes - Need a player to take the load of Rhodes so he can freelance
CB - Revis - Need some opposition to cover the other side, good depth but need an upgrade to Poteat, maybe Miller will make some leaps this year, Woolfork is a body in camp signing
LB - Harris - Barton is dumb but angry, will work well in the middle, Thomas may move back to his contract year form if he is switched to his proper side, still a big hole for pass rusher, Welcome Calvin Pace to the New York Jets
DL - Jenkins - Big man in the middle, now what to do to surround him, Coleman is solid but unspectacular, Well now we need to make a move for some DE depth, Ellis and Coleman of need a guy who can come in for brakes and not drop a notch in play, hopefully with one fo our mid round picks, good depth in Pouha, need more depth here, still hoping for something from Robertson

OL - Mangold - He is the current top lineman, will recieve boost from Faneca and we really need a boost on the right side with a mauler, Woody, check check, Ferguson will get better, Moore is still Okay, I suppose he isn't the most glaring hole
R - Cotchery - This is the year he steps up, although he is not a true 1 (more of a 2a) he is consistent and that will help with Clemens, Coles will be solid but his style of play has him on the decline, We have lots of WR4s or 5s on this team but we desparately need a WR3 preferably with speed, Baker will look better gain this year and with better blocking he will be able to catch more passes
RB - Washington - Will play a smaller role than Jones but will make bigger plays, needs to stay healthy as we have no current depth, especially with home run hitters, Jones is thanking someone for Faneca, now if he could get that RT
QB - Clemens - This scares the shit out of me, I am not sold on Clemens and I know Pennington is done as a starter, we need a QB3 with some upside, Smith can't do it and his gadget plays should be buried at the bottom of the playbook, even by 3rd and draws

ST - Miller/Washington - Big play ability in both, hopefully they stay healthy and see the endzone, Nugent is solid and Graham needs a boost or we need a new Punter

First off Robertson wont be playing DE and probably wont be a Jet very much longer due to his cap number. Also, Ellis is not a OLB and just because he played a few snaps there doesnt mean they will switch him to it.

    Coleman/Jenkins/Ellis

    Thomas/Barton/Harris/Bowens (Hopefully Pace)

    Is how it should read.

    Youth?

I was only placing the players as it stands, future aquisitions will be updated as well as draft pickups, Pace, Olivea, any other addition would be nice but it hasn't happened yet, just like D-ROB has not been moved so he needs a spot somewhere and at a 12 million cap number he will be playing

Realistically I do not see a spot for Ellis as a starter, but maybe a rotational player in the movement of 3-4 to 4-3

The idea of putting Bowens in a start spot sickens me, This is where draft picks will come into play, This isn't a personal mock, more of a depth chart mock

I tend to agree with ya. No way D-Rob is playing end with that high Cap hit. Tanny will end up getting less than he is hoping for, but has to free up the cap room in order to resign Rhodes and others. Too Short and too much cap space to tyr out at a 34 DE.

I am stating what as of right now the front 7 looks like. You had D-Rob and Ellis out of position. You cant just move guys because it sounds good in your head.

Technically the front 7 starters at this poing are....

    Hobson/Harris/Barton/Thomas

    or

    Thomas/Harris/Barton/Bowens

    Thats the truth.

    Ellis/Jenkins/Coleman

are the starters there. Coleman had a very good year and quietly and Ellis will improve with Jenkins around. D-Rob is long gone since Pouha and Jenkins are the NT.

Hobson is not on the team

D-ROB played some end last season so it is not just in my head

Sure D-ROB will be moved but it hasn't happened yet, when he is moved, which most likely will be for draft picks, Ellis will play a pure End position and Bowens is the immediate starter at OLB opposite Thomas, but that maybe tommorow.

As it stands I would not expect D-ROB to be the backup to Jenkins, especially with his price tag

I could also see the lineup as:
Thomas Harris Barton (Bowens/Ellis) moving in and out as a stand up rush end
    Coleman Jenkins (Roberston/Ellis)

This was just my opinion on what we are at right now, Personally if we are into guessing games I would love another end in Ellis's spot, and I do not think it is far fetched that we get one, there is loads of 3-4 end blocker eating prospects for this draft, for example, Rubin is in the same mold as Castillo and Olshansky.

Even though chances are Crob won't be here, as it stands now he is listed on the depth chart?

Do you also think Clement has a chance to be our opening day RT? No way in hell, and on a side note, he's still under contract? :eek:hmy:

    Still need some help!

So far the Jets upgraded in two major areas, DL & OL, but there's still 2 to go, WR & CB. Samuals is out of the question now, so who's going to come in to compete at CB? I'll be uneasy going into week 1 with Barret or Miller & Revis as the starters. WR also needs to be addressed, McCarines is gone thank god, Coles may be gone as well, so that leaves only Cotch who is not a #1, & then a bunch of nobodys. The Jets must get some recievers in here, if this O-line does what it's capable of, Pennington will have lots of time to throw again and he needs someone to throw to that can make plays.

It's only been two days of free agency. There's also an entire draft still.

wide receiver wont be addressed this off-season- theres too many pressing needs elsewhere- Coles, Cotchery, Stucki, Washington (if they put him out wide) will have to do for this season- they could actually be a real good unit

Oh my god. Are you guys forgetting about Deangelo Hall? HE would be a great acquisition. And as far as WR, There are many great receivers still there in free agency. Keenan McCardell. Eric Moulds, Jabar Gaffney, Marty Booker, Reche Caldwell, Justin McCareins (jk) AND WHAT HAPPENED TO CHARLES RODGERS?!?!

Lito Shepherd, Randall Gay are two options, though Lito will cost more.

I still think that OLB and DE are bigger needs than WR and CB. Those are the two most overrated positions. Build from the trenches up.

That's true. Gary Baxter and Brian Kelly also. And I think Hank Poteat is actually pretty good at the CB position.

All we need at the WR position is a #3. That's an easy hole to fill. Heck even Brad Smith can fill that hole. But if we want to look at the market, we can always sign somebody like Drew Carter or Devard Darling.

Are you Rodgers agent or something? The guy was a bum. He's been out of the league for 2 full seasons and never had more than 250 in any of his seasons in the the NFL.

If this is a joke its a real stupid one.
