Ok so we have Coles, JCotch, Brad Smith, and Chansi Stuck (I think he will be our next sleeper like JCotch) just to add more depth to the WRs.

What do you guys think about adding another WR in free agency and Draft?

We do need a playmaker at the WR spot and we know coles can be that but he has taken the role of 3rd down conversions specialist and Cotch has been the all purpose and long ball receiver. But if we do keep Chad that means we are going to be going with what was going on all season last year as a strategy that other teams used which was dip and dunk passes i.e. Indy vs SD and NE vs SD in the playoffs.

In free agency I wouldnt mind:

    Bryant Johnson
    Peerless Price
    David Givens
    Troy Walters
    Robert Ferguson
    Brandon Lloyd

I am pretty high on Bryant Johnson, Brandon Lloyd, and Peerless Price\Robert Ferguson ( I have them tied)

bryant johnson is one of the most severely underrated WR's around. the guy can play but just so happens he competes with boldin and fitzgerald.

he stepped in last yr and put up some numbers though for the time he was in.

if hes a FA i dont know why were not looking at him. or is he still under contract?

Our receiving core is good enough for this year. The position can be improved next offseason. The focus of this draft will be on the OL and defense. Defense wins championships. An elite defense in 08 will allow us to sack Brady and win the AFC East division.

If I have to sit here and watch Brad Smith play the slot, I might as well give up on watching the Jets before the season even starts.

    No, no, no.

    Bryant Johnson- signed with 49er's.
Peerless Price- Monikered for greatness, too bad he sucked with the Falcons and Bills despite many, many chances.
    David Givens- Past-his-prime ex-Patriot.
Troy Walters- 31 year old punt returner? Couldn't we get Rossum?
Robert Ferguson- not terrible, but why bother?
Brandon Lloyd- Are you serious? We just got rid of J-Mac and you wanna bring in this guy? ----> http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=30799

I think D.J. Hackett could be had for cheap. I think. He could nicely round out at number 3. Provided his ankle holds up. But because of that a creative contract could be drawn up. A one year contract might be worth it. The Seahawks want a chance to counter any offers he gets. He already refused the Redskins offer.

I like some of the WR prospects in the draft (Hardy, Sweed, etc)....or perhaps we could get Roy Williams and Det's 1st round pick for our first round pick if McFadden drops to us in the draft.

Lots of options available for the Jets when it comes to the wideout position.

and Green Hornet is right...we need Fresh Legs.

How about a possible trade with Cincy for Ocho Cinco? He wants out and they want Drob. There could be some relevance to that. Just food for thought......

if given a chance i think drob could become our elite, deep threat receiver. with our new OL, our qb's will have about 3 or 4 minutes per pass play, and that should be plenty of time for drob to get 20 yards down field.

Screens to the fat boy?? We can pull Faneca around the end to block into the 2nd level. Put Chad in as TE to cut block the OLB. Call the play "zx zoom, 34 fatfuck on 3" break.
