hope we are not done with free agency
the schedule this year has only 5 games with teams over 500. if the jets get their act together 8-9-10 wins and a run for the playoffs is within reach

still need more OL and DL help

forget about the draft---most of those guys dont make it

jets still need someone who can throw the ball

need to have penny revert back to his form of 2006 and not 2007

It's kinda hard to predict who will do what from one season to another. Some sub-500 teams will make a leap to the top and some winning teams will fall from grace... That along with paying taxes and death, you can count on. lol

I think we are pretty set on OL now maybe a late round pick another kid we can develop another Bender type you might say. DL I agree we need more guys but I think we need guys we can mold into possible replacements for Ellis and potentially though hard in this draft Jenkins. I wish we went for Bryant Johnson I think we could have done a 1 year deal like the 49ers give him a chance to shine if hes good we resign next year if not no big loss. CB is another ? mark I hope miller steps it up this year he showed signs last year before the injury. QB I wouldnt mind bringing in Leftwich on a 1 yr deal like the Giants did with Carr.

I believe that the more the merrier is the order of the day.

We have a several draft picks and I hope we do well in our choices. There's no question that we have to develop depth across the board.

The CS has to coach up our players -- see how many backs and LBs the Giants had to go through to get through the 07 season.

That's a tribute to their CS as well as their draft.

We need to do the same. There's no substitute for homegrown players that succeed. You have them longer, they are most cost effective and you attract more people with their success.

    Nice job!

Great in depth analyses on why we need these players and how usless the draft really is!

Can't wait for you next offering.

    /facepalm

off coarse the free agents were drafted-----but the odds are in your favor to get 6 free agents who can help the team right away vs trying to get 6 top players thru the draft

free agents have established themselves and can start right away----where as a rookie usually has very little impact on a team in his first year

    Your right!

I mean Brick, Mangold, Revis and Harris did almost nothing thier rookie seasons. If this is all the better we can do through the draft we may as well forefit our picks now and sign more vets.

A few years of that and we can be as good as the Redskins. Whoopdy frekin do!

FAs coming to a new team and doing better on that one than the one that drafted them is very rare. Curtis Martin did, but in retrospect he would have done the same over there too, and may have won a few SB rings.

brick was the fourth round pick two years ago hearalded as the best ot in years----certainly leaves a lot to be desired

drob cost us two top first round picks and has been a big disappointment

redskins made the playoffs while jets just had 4 wins last year

free agents and trading draft choices for vets is a way to get back to at least respectability

I think you are underrating the team. The schedule this year is actually easier than it was in '06 when we made the playoffs. With the additions we have made since '06 if we don't make the playoffs then Tangini is out the door at the end of the season.

Think about it. Who have lost since '06. An already injured Curtis Martin and Kendell. Who have we brought in? Jones, Revis, Harris, Faneca, Woody, Pace, Jenkins, Richardson, Chatman, Franks and we still have the draft.

If we Don't make the playoffs this year then Tangini should be ridden out of town on a rail and deservedly so.

your seriously getting me pissed....you cant be serious

how did the patriots become a dynasty...*cough..through the draft..*Cough
-did they win the superbowl when they decided to spend mad money on free agents...no...did they make their team better...yes

will we win the superbowl this year...highly doubt it..

is our team better? on paper..it is like night and day

not every draft pick works out right but dont say dbrick is doing doing bad

he did fairly well for a rookie but then he lost his LG....he played two positions this year but your two nieve to know that....he had to worry about his own man while knowing clarke is prolly gonna get burned and has to do a quick combo block...he couldnt focus on himself...

drob was a different coaching staff so thats a stupid excuse....i doubt coach would have traded picks to draft him....drob is playing better the past two years then he has his whole career...not great...but above average....that says alot about this coaching staff....

you have a petty argument my friend...dont underestimate the talent of this team man...it builds character lol:grin:
