called into serius this morning, and asked about our up coming season. carl banks says 9to10 wins is possible! he calls clemens penningtons back up. he seems to really like the moves we've made in the off season, although that other former 49er(forget name), seems less then thrilled with any of our pick ups other then faneca. banks also loves pace, in our scheme. thought that was great considering he played the position.
It is nice to see we are at getting some positive feedback with regard to our moves. I really can't predict what the season may have in store int terms of wins until I see who we draft and ultimately who our QB is going to be this upcoming season (projecting on how they look in pre-season).
I hope not. I'm not a Pennington hater, actually like the guy, but if Clemens can't win the starting job, he is toast. The deck is actually stacked in Clemens favor. He is this FO's selection. They have no ties to Pennington, and they would love to see Clemens win the job. If he doesn't the search begins in earnest, and there doesn't seem to be all that many good QB's in next year's draft at this point. Of course someone could step it up big time during the season next year. With as much cap space as all the teams have it is unlikely anyone is going to let a quality QB walk. I'm really pulling for a monster camp out of KC.
Kellen has plenty of time to win the job. Don't be in such a hurry to give up on the guy. He needs 3.5 to 4 years of seasoning in this offense. This is again why we need to build an outstanding bloodthirsty and ferocious OL, and a defense that lives to defeat people. With a strong context we will be able to develop our skill players in a well-nurtured situation, where the Big Uglies blow out a path for them to go through.
i dont even wanna get caught up in all the were going 9, 10, 11, 12 etc and whatever cause usally they are all wrong and dont know what there talking about..
Kellen outplayed Pennington last preseason and yet, Chad was annointed as the starter. Chad was benched later in the season for poor play. I think ERIC is well aware of Chad's limitations and what they do to the Jets.
9 to 10 wins is definitely a possibility if all the pieces come together. I think 7 or 8 wins is a more realistic upside at this point, but I'm not going to argue with anybody who wants to claim 9 or 10.
I agree. I felt that KC out played Chad last preseason and hopfully will again. If Chad wins the starting job the FO will most likely be looking at a QB in round or two next year (if one is not drafted this year).
As a giants fan, i respect Banks' word in many ways. He always tells it like it is and he is a great person to listen too. He knows this game and i believe him. I think the jets will be improved but i am not sure a 9 win team yet!!!!! I feel the division is much improved over the last year. Not only did the jets improve but so did the bills and dolphins. Its early but if they get an impact rookie with #6 it is not out of the question.
