Don't start this whining crap. Be glad you're within a few hours driving from the training facility and stadium. I see the Jets play one time a year (twice if they play the Bucs) and thats a 4-10 hour drive for me depending on how many women are along for the trip.

Why do they invest this much into a training facility, and not get their own stadium?

Because there is a bit of a difference between a 75+ million training facility/HQ and a 1.2billion dollar stadium.

no surprise, i see this thread leaning toward another NY vs NJ / WSS / Woody Cheap / Non-Metro Area etc etc. debate... let my emo-cons express my attitude on such an opinionated topic.

It was in all the papers. They tried. NYC politicians shot it down.

Could you imagine what the PSL's would be if they built alone in the city?

all the disapointed jets fans from long island should go complain to cablevision, their ads and their lobbying is why the jets moved to NJ.

I'd venture to guess that at least 90 percent of you in this thread who say over and over "stop your bitching" etc etc, most likely live within an hour of both the stadium and new training facility.

Not true KOZ, I said this before, I live in upstate NY, neither facility is close to me, so I am unbiased in that regard. I live a couple of hours from both locations.

Hate to see the total move to New Jersey. I reall wanted them to come back to the city but crooked politician ruined that. By the way how is that redevelopment on the westside coming along? New York City should explore a franchise with Shea being knocked down the could build right next to Citi Field. Both the Jets and Giants are reaping the marketing power of New York without playing there so its time to remove the New York from thier names and call them the New Jersey Jets and New Jersey Giants.

Before they shot down the West Side stadium, Woody told them " If you don't pass this, we will entirely leave NY". NY lost millions in income taxes over the next 20 years. How much money would the stadium and payroll taxes generated for the city and state over a 20 year period? Close to 50 mill. a year before a ticket is sold. What about union jobs? Sheldon Silver shot down a project that would have paid for itself. Looks like a bad decision in today's economy. You can't blame NJ, if you played for the Jets and the Stadium is in NJ, where would you like the training facility to be? How much do you enjoy that ride 10 times per year? The players had to do it twice as much and on buses.

Why do they invest this much into a training facility, and not get their own stadium?

The training facility is where the players, coaches, etc are 99% of the time..Thats where the money should be spent..Look that part of Jersey has nice towns with big houses and big back yards which players with families love..right.LI is great but very congested and alot of farm boys like Mangold prefer the wide open spaces. Your 30 minutes or less from Manhattan which the young guys love. Its perfect for attracting FA's..10 dates + playoffs at the stadium..put the money where you live and work 6 days a week not 1

Glenn is right about this. That part of north Jersey has some upscale neighborhoods not very far away. Instead of trying to find an expensive home on the outskirts of LI, players will be able to move into upscale homes and some players will probably not have more than a 10-minute commute to practice.

Couple that with, like 314 says, not having to be an "away" team at every home game and it makes being a Jet all that more enjoyable. It's the best thing for the team, no doubt about it, but it sucks for the LI fans.

But hey, I've been commuting to Hofstra these years from NJ and putting up with the Belt Parkway during both rush hours to get there, so there's no way I'm gonna get upset over finally being able to go to TC in a half an hour.
