Broncos | Team reportedly has contract for D. Robertson
    Thu, 10 Apr 2008 11:25:28 -0700

Tom Rock, of New York News Day, reports according to sources, the Denver Broncos reportedly have a new contract in place for New York Jets DL Dewayne Robertson, who they likely will acquire through a draft-day trade.

Jets | Team trying to complete sign-and-trade deal for D. Robertson
    Fri, 11 Apr 2008 07:21:41 -0700

John Murphy, of Yahoo! Sports, reports the New York Jets would likely acquire two of the five draft choices the Denver Broncos currently possess between the fourth-and-sixth rounds of the NFL Draft in what would essentially be a sign-and-trade deal for DL Dewayne Robertson, according to several league sources. The Broncos will need to sign Robertson to a new deal prior to the NFL Draft in order to allow the trade to be completed. The Jets are currently without a fourth-round draft choice of their own, while the Broncos have two picks in the fourth round, as well as two picks in the fifth round and one pick in the sixth round. The Jets currently have a total of just six picks in the NFL Draft, while the Broncos own a total of nine draft choices. Trading Robertson would save the Jets roughly $8 million as he currently is scheduled to count $11 million against the team's salary cap.

Jets | Team could look to trade down in draft
    Thu, 10 Apr 2008 18:00:10 -0700

Rich Cimini, of the New York Daily News, reports the New York Jets could look to trade down in the 2008 NFL Draft. The Jets currently hold the No. 6 overall pick in the draft. The team could look to trade down to between No. 7 and No. 15 overall. They have discussed a trade with at least one team in that range.

I have been hearing this a lot lately... Hopefully there is a serious trade in place here. Since he has failed two physicals what kind of compensation do you guys think we will get for him?

I have a feeling they had that contract drawn up before we signed Rhodes. The Rhodes deal had to be contingent on dumping DRob's cap hit.

I just hope the Jets' aren't just giving him away. I hope they get at least a 3rd thru 5th rounder in this years draft & maybe that CB they were discussing earlier.

We'll the Bengals wouldn't go higher than what ... a 4th and 5th ... and that was before he failed two physicals and it became patently obvious the Jets were desparate to unload him. A 5th now would be great. Maybe the Jets can trade DRob and a 4th or 5th for the Broncos 3rd so we'd get the 3rd round pick we gave up for Jenkins back.

If I had to bet, I'd say a 6th this year and a 6th or 7th next year.

As long as it's original, and not that baked crap, that sounds reasonable.

Broncos do not have a third rounder they traded that last year. They do have two 4th roun ders and I think 2 choices in the 6th round.

They could be giving him up for a hall-of-fame back. Terrell Davis. Bring him onto camp and it takes all the pressure off the Jets to draft Mcfadden.

Its hard to believe they would get a third rounder for him. But i would certainly not take anything less than a fourth.
