Pope blesses daughter of Jets QB Clemens BY ERIK BOLAND | erik.boland@newsday.com 4:22 PM EDT, April 17, 2008 It most assuredly wasn't an endorsement, though some probably won't be able to help themselves. Jets quarterback Kellen Clemens, poised to battle Chad Pennington this preseason for the team's starting quarterback position, and his wife, Nicole, were in Washington Thursday morning and attended Pope Benedict XVI's Mass at Nationals Park. Afterward the Pope greeted well-wishers and while doing so, randomly kissed some children. One of those he kissed was the recently born Kate Elizabeth Clemens, Kellen and Nicole's first child.
In other news Chad Pennington was seen boarding a plane to India seeking the blessings of the Dahlia Lama

Good news! I always knew KC was religious. Always makes the sign of the cross before entering the field, which is bad ass in my opinion. Sadly, after that he would usually be sacked or throw an INT.
