The Miami Dolphins are shopping defensive end Jason Taylor, hoping for a first-round NFL Draft pick in return, several Florida newspapers report. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that several sources confirmed the Dolphins are courting offers for the six-time Pro Bowler. With the Dolphins in the beginning of a rebuilding project, it has long been speculated that Taylor would like to finish his career with a team capable of contending for a playoffs berth. The Palm Beach Post reports that Taylor has quietly requested a trade to a contending team. Dolphins head of football operations Bill Parcells has denied that Taylor would be traded under any circumstances. But rumors involving Taylor resurfaced when the Dolphins saw what the Chiefs got for Jarred Allen -- a first-round pick and two third-round picks. If the Dolphins can work out a similar deal for Taylor, that could go a long way in their rebuilding efforts. The Post also reported that Taylor is aware he's being shopped. The man can play, but giving up a 1st round pick or more for a 33 year old with, at best, 3 to 4 years left (and ability waning with each year) just does not make good sense.
