I wish the Jets had their own stadium.

I was born in Astoria, so I've been a Jet/Met fan since birth (40 years). Loved going to Shea Stadium - hence my sign-in ID. I have been against NJ since the Jets moved their over 20 years ago, but I've been a season ticket holder for the past 15 years - all of those years at the Meadowlands. I will never turn my back on this franchise and I'm thankful they stayed in the NYC metro area.

I just wish they had their own stadium. That's all. A place to call home, planned, designed and built for the Jets.

For all those in NJ doing the Happy-Dance, Congratulations! I look forward to cheering/booing/laughing/crying/drinking next to all of you for the next 100 years.

After what we've all gone through with this team - some years all we have is each other. We are all a very different breed of football fans.
    Slainte!

Well said. In addition to sharing the stadium, 20 acres of the Jets new stadium site is going to be a Giants training facility, so it's still really their stadium and we're still stuck living in moms basement, kinda. Yeah, mom's going to have a contractor in and give us cable and some shelves, but that's about it. We'll still have to hide the bong & pornos and spray air freshener when that basement door opens. :)

I think guy did more damage to himself than I could ever lay on him. He was such a beedie-eyed, Deliverance-kind-of-Red-Neck. Cue the banjos.

He wouldn't make it past 46th Street on the 7 train.

fellow Astorian here. this move really bothers me. in alot of ways, the fact that they are moving their headquarters to NJ is a bigger slap in my face. in all honesty, why are they called NY at all? they should change that immediately. nothing about them is NY at all. let me get this straight, they play in NJ, practice in NJ, players live in NJ....what the F? no proffessional football in NY? what a disgrace. a dan snyder type should come along and move a team to NY immediately.

It's the NY Metropolitian area. If they changed it to the New Jersey Jets, the logo would have to be changed because J isn't symmetrical, making it look funny. I happen to like that logo and would rather keep it the way it is.

At least its not going to be called Giants stadium again. And for all you New Yorkers bitching East Rutherford is like 5 mins from the tunnel. Hell you can see the Empire State Building & the New York Skyline from Giants stadium. Would you rather they moved the team to upstate NY or the Island? Hells naw. JERsey baby!!!!

anyone that is not sentimental to the fact that this regime has uprooted this franchise is an idiot. yes, i will be that harsh. the team has been on L.I. for decades. older fans have taken their children and even their grandchildren to training camp. to me, there is no trace back to our heritage. F'ing Florham Park. what a joke.

While our own stadium would be nice, a lot of true hardworking fans would lose their tickets since Woody would need to pay for it through ticket expenses. Do I hear $125 a seat for upperdeck?

But now the Jets players can go out and buy some clothing without having to pay sales tax. They should be stoked.

THey tried to build a stadium in NY and couldn't. We all know the reason it failed was not lack of trying by Woody. If they are gonna play in NJ, they should train in NJ as well. The players would vote unanimously to move to Florham Park and don't think this won't have an impact on future FA's. Bottomline is its better for the franchise and the fans, you just need to get past the NY pride thing. The stadium is less than 10 mile from NYC..

As much as I hate the 'Skins franchise and Dan Snyder, we can't really bash him. I live in MD, about 10 minutes away from the stadium and its only 10 minutes outside of the DC boarder, its most likely cheaper in MD and FedEx Field is one of the nicest/most expensive (brings in soo much revenue) complexes out there, also holds the most fans, props to that greedy bastard for knowing how to make money, even if he does not know how to spend it.

they only tried building in Manhattan, and it was a circus revolving strictly around revenue. They never tried to bring it back to it's roots, Queens. they're dropping a billion with the Giants, they could have made 500mil work in Queens. Partnering with the Mets would have made it easier. But Woody does not care about the original fan base, only revenue and convenience for him. I understand that E Rutherford is only 9 miles from Manhattan, and possibly only 15 miles from Queens, but it takes me f'n 2 hours to get there! They could have been the only true NY team. Now they're still in the Giants shadow. Both the Jets and Giants should be preceeded by NJ. NJ picked up where NY didn't, and should respectfully have the teams named after their state.

they half-assed attempted to go back to queens after the west side failed, which had nothing to do with money, and was strictly political (and hey, the guy who won that, well lets just say he's great, considering he wants the money spent in his area, which includes ground zero, which was a big propenent of his arguement, even though a pretty lax effort has been made their, and just he's done a basically horrible job, just wants to be able to sit on a pile of cash that he probably somehow is able to dip into himself)...yeah i dont know nyc politics THAT well, but from the headlines that made across the state...it was easy to hear what was being said, and basically it's fairly easy to deduce what was actually going on...
