im pretty sure that the saints are gonna draft mario at #2 and if thats so, we should prob trade down because there is no one worth picking at #4 with bush, williams and lienart gone except maybe AJ hawk.. but i think that would be overkill for our LB group when we really need offense.. anyone hear anything about the saints takin dbrick at #2 instead of williams?? i mean, that would be stupid since williams is a much more valuable DE than dbrick is OT..

They have charles grant and will smith at de both who are #1 picks and are good, I dont think its a lock they will take williams but I dont think its out of the question they will take williams, I have heard brick at #2 but I ulimately see them doing something else, I think we will end up with Brick with the 4th pick, but im croosing my fingures that williams falls 2 us

i'd love to see the Jets take Mario at number 4. that pick is going to be dictated by what the Saints do. Dbrick is an excellent choice if Mario is gone. He's the real deal and the LT is a very important position to be solid in.

i still think that we need to use the #4 pick to get a playmaker at a skilled position (best one at his position).. the offensive line can be improved by later picks and solid coaching.. if we cant get a player at #4 who is worth it, we need to trade down to get multiple players (second best at their position) with potential to become stars..

I think Saints really want AJ Hawk and just want to drop down a little to take him. What better way than to give impression that Mario williams is your choice. .

I still think Jets saint deal is going to get done. 1. R Bush - Texans 2. Jets- Matt Leinart 3.Titans D ferguson 4. Aj Hawk - Saints 5. Greenbay- B Bunkley 6.49ers- V Davis 7 oak- Mario Williams. Okay five to seven are a little wishful thinking and alot more unjknown.

The Jets are suckers if they move up. If anything they should move down.

If Reggie Bush isn't signed by draft day Mario Williams may end up the 1st pick or someone makes a hard move for Lienart? Very tough to predict at the moment. Wiliams is not falling to 7 unless he test positive for drugs between now and the draft.

If we take defense with the #4 pick I will be upset.

If the offensive player we want is not worthy of the #4, take a chance and deal down.

I'd rather move up for Leinart than take any of these defensive players.

If I say this I get patronized to death. It's good to see someone else agrees with me though.

I am not a fan of workout warriors. AJ Hawk was a darn good player, but you do not take MLBs with the #4 overall pick. Sorry. Especially on a team with a all pro middle linebacker. I know we're going 3-4, but even those teams in the 3-4 do not have 2 dominant middle linebackers. Look at Baltimore. When they played 3-4, they let Lewis still make all the plays.

As for Mario Williams, I want a football player who can do it with pads on. He's good, but his stock did not SHOOT UP until workouts. I hate that kind of player. They work out less than you would think. Cutler falls in this category.

Leinart, on the other hand, has done it ON THE FIELD. Yes, he had a lot of talent around him, but guess what, he's going to have a lot of talent around him in the NFL too. He delivers the ball on time, with precision, and is ALREADY USED TO RUNNING A COMPLEX NFL STYLE OFFENSE.

I'm not saying I must have Leinart, but if I am going to make a move in this draft, let's get him. If we wait until #4, and he's gone, let's get the OL more solid with Ferguson or let's deal down.

Williams really isn't a total workout warrior. He was a stud in college. Calling him simply a workout warrior is unfair to what he did in college.

And as for Baltimore, I'm not necessarily saying we should take Hawk, but when Hartwell left, giving them only Ray Lewis as their stud MLB, their defense declined a lot.

He was an inconsistent stud in college. We are better off addressing the D with pick 29 where a bunch of OLB will be available. Our Dline is ok, we need a NT more than anything on the DL. An OLB with pass rushing abilituy is mandatory for a 3-4 D and we don't have anyone on the roster to fill that spot. Get the QB first, at 29 get the OLB, then we start building the OL.

Yeah but Hartwell wasn't a top 4 pick.

As for the workout warrior statement... He went from the bottom of round 1 to the top because of workouts. That's a workout warrior in my book.

that's not true at all either...i'm almost positive mario williams was considered a high 1st rd. draft pick since the start...his workouts just cofirmed he was still going high, just like how aj hawk is
