i was one who thought it was a bad idea, guess i was wrong. although injury has played a small part in his demise. hopefully he does not prove to be a good back in new england cause as much as i think he can do good and hope that he does i cannot want that for him there.
I also thought it was a bad idea, still do. I feel bad for him to be honest, he went into a very horrible situation in Oakland. Running at a brick wall would've got him better results. I still think he will be good on a proper team. NE is probably one of the best places he could be at right now, IMO. Why do I get this feeling he is going to make a lot of people wish he was still a Jet? I'm calling it right now. Going out there on that limb, I'm crazy.
This reminds me of when Vince McMahon, head of the WWF, would sign wrestlers released from the WCW (Ted Turner's wrestling company). McMahon would take these washed-up loser dudes and turn them into big stars. (X-Pac, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerroro, etc.).
I think this will be a yet another good short-term pickup by NE. Just like Kyle Brady last year. You have players that you make long-term investsments in & players that you make short-term investments in. Jordan is short-term. He is one of those players that only play well & put in a good effort on successful teams. He wont have a year like Randy Moss did in 2007, but he will contribute something to NE along the same scale as what Kyle Brady did for NE last year.
How long before Jordan has a hissy fit about his of carries. Of course, BB slipped a little. He thought Jordan could bring in Herm's playbook and then game plan completely opposite vs the Jets
DWare, Jordan is 29. Hardly young, fresh legs. But why be concerned? The New England Patriots are terrible at motivating underachievers, especially those from Oakland. Hemi, Jordan is 29. Remember that power running game the Patriots lacked last year after Morris went down? It's going to last past a single injury this year. This dude is going to pick up 500 yards for the Pats this year. And just when I was starting to think the Patriots FINALLY had a mediocre off-season.
29 is the wrong side of 30? Anyway, he adds depth to a deep core. He was productive with the Jets when he wasn't asked to carry the load..... You really can't judge anyone by their time with the Raiders because nobody seems to do anything over there.
I stand corrected. I agree, the Morris injury hurt them. I had him on my fantasy team and thought I had steal.
Yeah, except Fargas who rushed for 1000 yards and over 4 yards a pop and Rhodes, who started against the Jaguars and Chargers and had 100 yard games against both. Sure I'm bitter but Jordan is a bum. Having said that, if the Pats can't motivate him to get in shape and take his job seriously, nobody can...
I thought Jordan was great when he played for the jets..and was disappointed when he went to the Raiders. He had a great burst for a big back. He's certainly not a bum by any stretch...but having said that....he had a serious back injury last season (when he got folded in half in Miami..it looked gross on the replay)...I have a hard time believing he's fully recovered from that. So i wouldn't expect Jordan to have a tremendous year for the Pats...i think he adds value to the goal-line situations if he remains somewhat healthy...but that's about it.
