Lol, just two years older and A LOT healthier than Elway when he won 2 Super Bowls, and coming off one of the best seasons in his career, and a sight better than the Jets last season. Chad was young and familiar with the offense, and that worked out so well. What's your point?
Nice isn't it!!! It is a limited edition painting, by an artist named Ruth Thompson, called "Monarch." Here is her webpage: http://www.tarnishedimages.com/ I have it hanging in my bedroom (I took a digital picture for my avatar, heehee), I have a few more of her pieces too. IMO, she is the best fantasy artist alive today.
Whoooaaa! This one's bad-ass! I love a lot of the angels and ferries too. I wonder whether these are based upon anything in literature. I come from a very artsy fartsy community, on the Ms. Gulf Coast. Tell me what you think of this artist: http://www.walterandersonmuseum.org/ He's about my favorite, and not only because he's from my hometown. Hurricane Katrina destroyed a lot of the originals the family owned. I wish I'd invested a lot more in prints.
I love all her stuff. I have spent WAY too much buying her stuff. I get some as presents from the family too. I actually first came across Thompson's work at the NY Rennaissance Faire. She sets up there every year. I actually chose "Monarch" for my avatar because of the color, thought it was fitting. He's pretty good. But to be honest I am not really into impressionistic. Too bad about Katrina. So much damage, I don't think the region will ever recover, especially artistically. Shame.
Lol, I absolutely love impressionism. That's one thing I'd like about NY, the art world and museums. I have another favorite, who is actually a good friend of mine, Sandra Eisler, that I really think you'd like. I'll have to see if I can find some of hers on the web. Here's one of hers - I actually have a signed/numberd print of this. This really doesn't do it justice, and the original is HUGE and just magnificent: It's a shrimp boat in a storm. My favorites of hers are her birds. She's an incredible wildlife artist. I've had 3 heron prints of hers for a few years that I have got to get framed. Yeah, it's amazing I didn't visit the Coast till 2 yrs after Katrina, and it was just devastating to see, even with all the rubble gone. None of my family lives down there any more, and my hometown, Ocean Springs, faired better than most, it always has because of it's odd geographical position, but Biloxi, and so many other towns in that area will never be the same. It really makes me sad.
Great post. People really need to learn to ignore the media man...to them Favre's arm being tired is a story that dumbasses will eat up...we ain't dumb and Favre's tired arm is just a tired arm. He's not going to blow his elbow out...he's not going to blow his shoulder out... I really can't believe this is a big deal.
perhaps 2 good years in a row may be asking too much. I'd like to think that the Jets are the equal of those Denver SB teams, but not at this point after a 4-12 season.
Well see. This is all just a lot of trash talking and boasting at this point. None of it matters, only the score at the end of each game. The Jets have a pretty easy schedule, of course, outside of the Pats and the Seahawks, but anything can happen, any given Sunday. That's the fun of it all.
