ok, thank you for the information though on the ps and ir for rookies, those were questions i have been wondering about for awhile and couldnt find any solid information about it. it definitely plays a HUGE roll in how cuts are handled and who stays and or goes.

i know many of us were thinking oh ok ainge will go on ir and we will be able to protect him until next year. that does not appear to be the case at this point. it sucks because you hate to give up on a guy so quick when he has potential but then again this is probably what happened to clowney in green bay... so you win some you lose some.

you are retarded....a player has to sign off that he is injured to go on ir...waived/injured means the player feels like he could be well enough to sign with another team or more frequently it means that a team didnt care enough about keeping the player to put him on ir because the player gets paid if they are on ir...any vet that hasnt suffered a previous injury gets paid their full salary...most rookies/2nd year players and reoccuring injuries on vets i.e. a second torn acl, are on a split contract meaning they would receive a portion of their base salary (usually half)

this is why the cowboys released terry glenn....they couldnt agree on a split contract
