There is nothing wrong with Coles, I'm so fucken sick and tired of hearing it.

Just because Coles wont talk to the media, the media are bashing him every chance they get. I dont blame Coles one bit, if he were talking to the media I'm sure the first question would be "Would you prefere Chad or Brett?". And his answer will be twisted 100 different ways.

Coles is doing the right thing here no matter what anyone thinks.

Good point. If that was the first question he would have to answer, knowing Coles, he'd get pissed pretty quickly. And it's a classless question.

I hope we don't hear from Coles all year. It would be hysterical, and the media would be pouting like children. More power to #87.

I like Coles, and could have plenty of complaints on Bradway, but this is not one of them. The Jets would have had to majorly overpay to keep Coles, the Skins gave him more than he asked the Jets for, they threw money at him that would have put the Jets in bad cap situation. On top of that, the Jets received the Skins first round pick, I think it was 13th overall. I'd take that for Coles again.

Now, the fact that that picked got packaged and traded to move up to get Drob, that is something to complain about.

And for the previous poster who said the union wouldn't let Coles take less money from the Jets, sure they would if Coles chose not to take it as far as he did. Ince the offer sheet was in place that's a different story. But Coles didn't need to negotiate all the details with the skins. Skins talk high level paramters around numbers like the 35 million they gave him, Jets offer 31, he wants to stay home and take it. No union involved. I imagine it happens a bit. However, The Jets weren't even in the ballpark of the skins cash. Coles had a chance to get a ton of money, and took it. Can't blame him, but it wasn't a union thing.

Yeah, exactly. That article was total bullshit and I am surprised Pennington is so stupid as to get involved. If it was loyalty as he says then Coles would just retire but you don't see that happening. It's exactly what Cannizzaro said it was even though a lot of people don't like how he said it.

Retire over losing your friend the QB?

Really? If Coles did that we'd become an angry mob. Pitchforks, fire, and clubs in hand.

If the problem is Coles not talking to the papers and nothing else, then there is no problem. The media deserves nothing. I've said this five hundred billion times: the media do not represent me as a fan.

Gotta love how Farve refers to Mangini as "Eric." Wonder how many other players can refer to their head coach by first name when speaking to the media.

Guess age does have it's privileges!

    Still love Favre...just sayin...

Chadwick should focus on his new team. It's not like he starts out as a quality NFL starter. He should be working, not talking.

    What a tool.

It funny how some players talk to the media and team fans hate it because they stir up locker room problems and let the media in on problems there in . Others take non communication with the media as some sign that a player is disgruntled. personally I think players should have no contact with the media ( Team / family/ work / etc ) at all.
Media should be able to access players during games and during the season and at no other time. Just like we see in our world new , controversy sells and the truth tends to be distorted in favor of drama to sell and retain interest.

I like Chads attitude since he came to the Dolphins. He will help quite a bit with our young Oline. They've had several interviews with the linemen since Chad arrived and the Oline thinks Chad takes over the huddle and calms things down. I know Chad had a hot and cold effect on Jet fans and I don't expect the Int's to magically disappear, but I expect our offense to run much smoother with his experience behind center.

I also think the Jets are much better off with Favre, without question. But I think giving nothing up to get Chad in Miami was a big plus for us. We have John Beck and Chad Henne in the wings and so far Henne seems to have made his mark early and Pennington will without a doubt have a positive effect on our young QB's.

I like the fact that Coles is loyal to Pennington and I'm 100% confident he'll eventually have the same relationship with Brett. I think the Jets are poised to give the Pats a run for their money in the division this season. I hate the Jets with every ounce of hatred in my body, but I love this sport and I know the Jets are doing the right things to improve.
I'm still not sold on your HC, but this season should answer any remaming questions about him.

He was up for RFA and the Redskins offered him a ridiculous contract that the Jets chose not to match. I don't fault him one bit for that. What was he supposed to do? Tell the Redskins "no, I'm going to stay with the Jets even though they aren't offering me anything close to what you are".

I don't know many players that would.

lol...exactly. The whole point of "loyalty" is that you are usually sacrificing something for that thing you are loyal to. I don't blame Coles for getting paid...but don't call him loyal.

The point is it has nothing to do with loyalty. Wouldn't you think if it did his first loyalty would be to the team paying him a trillion dollars to act like a jerk? Duh...

    Let's make this relative...

When was the last time you were loyal to a close friend??

When was the last time you were loyal to your employer??

    Get it?

I'm sure Tannenbaum already regrets guaranteeing the last two years of his contract. Now he can continue to be the weasel he is until his days here are done and there is absolutely nothing the Jets can do about it.

That is not relative to anything. Most people stay loyal to their employers as long as they are taking their money. Friends have nothing to do with work.
