I was really impressed by Clemens. That pass to Keller over the middle was perfectly placed.

Ratliff throws a really catchable ball. I still like Clemens way more.

Despite the INT, Ratliff looked great. On his second possession, he proved he can tough it out and make big plays with those two huge passes that resulted in a quick TD. Clemens has shown no improvement from last season. I don't care that he actually made a completion. He's still dinking and dunking and handing off for no gain. If he's watching Favre closely in practice, it hasn't improved his game on the field.

If Ratliff isn't the #2 this season, something is wrong.

Favre is the master of the pump fake and looking off the safety. He can do a mean stiff arm, too.

ratliffs first series was pretty bad. first that dangerous looking sideline pass into double coverage and then the silly int. im glad he had the guts to come back and play well after that. thats nice to see, especially for a rookie.

Okay, just got done watchng the first half. Wow, Favre ran for a 1st down! Good stuff! That's the kind of thing that would take years of Holmgren's life, lol.

Cotchery appears to be his favorite target right now, but Smith looks good too, and Bubba Franks did catch a pass - so it wasn't all bad, but yeah that penalty SUCKED!

A couple of those missed long passes looked like either someone didn't run their routes right, or Favre was confused about the route. Those are just a sign of growing pains I think.

Too many bone-head penalties though, yeah. There are a lot of new players on the offense working out the timing, wouldn't you say?

And I saw Eli sacked 3 times, right?

Overall, it was GREAT I thought. Pretty exciting stuff. I'm going to watch the second half later.

I hope you realize that people involved have said that someone was supposed to step up to the LOS when Franks shifted. The jets use multi-shift packages, and someone blew their assignment. Franks was correct to shift. Favre, others, and every commentator has said it.

Thanks for clarifying that. I have NO idea about shift packages or whatever that is, but I'm glad it was NOT Franks' fault. I'm really rooting for him to do well with the Jets.

Do you mean you are glad it was not Franks' fault?

ah, didn't realize someone else didn't do part 2. Then it's not on Franks.

Nonetheless the numbers could have looked better for the critics who don't let facts get in the way.

Eli got killed for a grand total of 7 times that night *or was it 8? The numbers are escaping my mind - the Jets last year never had that many sacks in a single game.*

It was 3. The other 5 came against the backups.

My thoughts exactly. If he's not at least on the roster I'm going to be pissed. He's shown more already than I've ever seen Clemens do, excpet for a few isolated good plays, you could make a strong case for him being #2 by mid to late season. I love the fact that he came right back after the INT and was aggressive. After that long, dragging game and we score on two passes to win the game.
