Oakland's Bush not happy about move to fullback Michael Bush Getty Images Running back Michael Bush awoke a fullback Monday, and he didn't even know it. "Yeah, that's all I'm going to say about that," Bush said after Monday's practice, which was done behind closed gates in Alameda for the first time since training camp started. Bush's body language did the talking for him. When met by reporters in the locker room, he dropped his chin into his chest and let out a deep sigh. Consider this the latest wild turn in a 16-month pro career full of them. The Raiders drafted Bush with the first pick of the fourth round in 2007. A Heisman hopeful at Louisville, he was touted as a future star once his broken leg recovered. Bush was made a short-yardage specialist in the offseason. When fullback Oren O'Neal was lost for the season with a knee injury Saturday, Bush was moved into his spot. "I've always been a team player," Bush ended up saying. "So, it's one of those things. You just suck it up, go about your business and try to have some fun with it." Bush certainly has the size to be a fullback. He's 6-foot-1 and 245 pounds with above-average tailback speed and dependable hands. His ability to catch screen passes could secure playing time while he learns the position. I swear to God, one day Al Davis is gonna hold a press conference and say, "I hate football players. Always have. Just hate em." No RaiderJoe response to this yet? Allow me: This yets another smart move by coachings staff. Remember Zach Crockett is was smallish type full back how did he do Ill tell you how he doed better than the Jets fullbacking r u seroius lmao tony richardson is so old raiders runnin game now piosed for 4000 yards this kid is going to be a stare.
Not optimal but sometimes you have to adjust. They just lost their #2 fullback for the year. Bush is running third at RB. He weighs 245 pounds. And besides, nobody said this was permanent. Jerry McDonald of the Tribune said he took a few snaps at FB. This drama queen from the San Fran Chronicle is reporting it like it's a permanent position change, which it isn't. So has Coles said anything over in Happy Land yet?
I thought we see a combination OF Mcfadden and Bush alot this season in the same backfield. The reason being that both Mcfadden and M Bush are very good recievers coming out of backfield. Your going to see Raiders occassionally split Mcfadden out wide before the snap. (thats going to take alot of defense attention away) Now you have a Bush (the hammer) to pound on a defense. Bush has the size to hold up in Blitz pickup. BTw By moving Bush to FB it lets a promising RB L rankin make the team. Rankin might be the answer as a returner, as J Lee Higgins hasn't exactly done enough to make you feel comfortable.
Who really cares if he gives an interview to these guys? All that matters is winning games, not selling NY Posts.
Apples and Oranges. We move Coles to TE or even Slot WR, then its the same territory. I have gone on record saying that I want Coles to fuck the media all year and not say a word.
Really? Most people I talk to do not give a rats ass. I have noticed you have been real angry at the Jets since the Favre trade.
Are you kidding? Getting Favre is the best thing the Jets have done in 20 years. As far as Coles is concerned, he is the same whiney, moaning, bitching ass that Owens and Johnson have been except with a third of the talent. I didn't like them for it and I sure as hell won't like Coles for it. I don't look at our players different just because they play for the Jets.
