I'm starting a thread for this series. I don't care if everyone else has given up on them. I'm still watching, and I'm still sticking by this team. We still have a shot to spoil some postseason hopes these last couple weeks, so let's get it done. So I found an interesting article on the NYY site: So why exactly did it take so long to get to this point? I've been talking about his poor plate discipline combined with a bad swing for a long time now. I'm no smarter than an MLB coach should be. I became a big fan of Long last year after what he did with ARod, but come on. "Watch and wait" with a mechanically-flawed player making $30M? Nice. ------------- In other news, Ian Kennedy had a wonky start the other night for SWB. I didn't see it, but I read about it. He fluctuated between brilliant and atrocious. Fortunately for he and the team, he didn't surrender any runs. The door has to be closing on him. I'm really disappointed with him. I was hoping he'd at least pan out as a back-of-rotation guy, if not a legit #3. I believe devil attributes it to poor mechanics. If that's the case (and I really can't say, since I was never really a pitcher), then why can't someone straighten him out?
Win or lose, I always stand by my team since just before the All star break. Where is that rapscallion?
 I've seen him lurk a few times, but he hasn't posted here in a while. He's still active in the main forum though. Anyway, why are you worrying about him? Don't you have a hookup via NAMBLA to meet with?
Phil Hughes in the AAA playoffs, 2 starts: 13 IP, 8 H, 4 BB (.923 WHIP), 1 ER (.692 ERA), 23 SO (15.93 K/9)
Yeah, that really sounds like a pitcher who is going to suck his whole career. So the good news tonight is that we didn't lose!
No, with Kennedy I attribute it to sucking. His stuff just isn't very good. He'll wind up as a 4th starter for the Royals or Pirates or something. Hoping for a Yankee sweep here.
On a bright note, Jeter is one hit away from the Yankee Stadium record for hits. Good for him. I've given him a lot of shit this year, but in all honestly, he's the most consistent ballplayer on the team, and has been his entire career. Had he never been hit on the wrist, he'd probably be contending for the batting title again.
Did I also read that Pavano left the mound with injury again? That dude should be imprisoned for the the money he stole.
Honestly, I missed a lot of the action this weekend, so I don't know. It wouldn't surprise me though. Pavano is one of the biggest pussies in the world of sports. That's fine though. His option won't be picked up, and he'll be out of the game by November.
Pavano will appropriately become synonymous with the terms "free agent bust" and "goldbrick." That's honestly not my attempt to break Yankee fans balls. That's sympathy. The guy's a disgrace to MLB. Check out the last line of this article.
What a total dickhead. See. That's why I try not to give Schilling shit. I just take for granted the red was actually blood, and give it to him for performing under that. Then you have a pussy like Carla who sprains his ass and has to miss 3 months. F**k him. I can't wait till the Yankees tell him to shove his option up his ass and then he has to retire because no one wants to bother with him.
