wasn't sure whether to put this here or in the jets forum as this indirectly affects the draft. it was just reported by espn that simoneau has been placed on IR. looks like jv is gonna be seeing a lot more reps this season than anticipated. we all know how good he can be in the 4-3, so there's an even stronger possibility he makes the pro-bowl (barring injury of course). and that may give the jets the best option possible from the conditional picks. anyone know for sure what exactly that is and what the full conditions are? thought i read possible 2nd rounder initially (meeting the requirements of course), but on another thread, saw someone else say that was never an option. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3584263
Vilma is the man. Simoneau would not have seen too much action anyway. I am excited for Sunday at 1:00 just to see JV.
i read somewhere that Vilma played in 72 of the snaps against the Bucs last week. If Simoneau is out now....there's a excellent chance the pick we get will be the Saints 2nd rounder.
This is very important for us.......bordering on huge. Never like to see a player lose a season, & granted Simoneau wasnt 100% a MLB (played about half outside in their 4-3), but it would be GREAT if we end up w/a 2nd rounder from the Vilma trade.........minimum 3rd rounder to go w/the 4th we had last year.
