Can we please try to cover this guy? Every game he kills us. If Revis had Moss on single coverage, were was the help with Welker? Pathetic!
Every game he kills us? The guy has had ONE good game against us in his career(last year's opening day and even then he only had 6 recs for 60 yds or so but he had his only TD against us). he had alot of catches early but he wasn't killing us yesterday. I'd rather have Welker catch 7 for 70 and Moss 2 for 22 than hold Welkler to 2-3 recs and have Moss go wild.
I think that´s what our gameplan looked like on Defense. Cover Moss, get pressure and let Cassel earn his strides by having to throw to 5´8 Faulk and 5´9 Welker in a hurry.
He had 7 catches for 70 yards, not exactly killing us. He had the few screen passes early that went for big yardage then was pretty much shut down the rest of the day. Pats O didn't deserve to win that game, the D and STs did though and that is why they won.
Not like we're the only team to get victimized by Welker. Pats O has a lot of weapons. Hard to shut down all of them. Pick your poison.
Please, they put up 19 points, converted 3rd downs, and didn't turn the ball over. Reality my friend is the the Jet O didn't deserve to win that game, end of story.
The pats O had the one great drive to seal it(aided by a questionable roughing call) but otherwise they didn't do much all day. They were handed great FP all game long and only managed 19 points. The average starting FP for NE was almost the 40 yard line, ours was the 21.
Welker made key conversions. He and Faulk are a big part of their offense. It's not just Moss and Maroney. As for their O, the lack of turnovers was a big factor. Only scoring 19 understated their effectiveness. Imo they had the initiative from their first FG.
Sour Grapes. I agree it was a bad roughing the passer call but I bet you forget that even without it, Cassel still hit the pass for a first down inside the Jets 30. They still would have gotten the field goal anyway so the roughing call made little difference. As for you Field Position comment, I don't get it, you do realize that Special teams is part of the game right? Besides with Lord Favre on your team you would think he would be able to overcome a little F.P.
I do realize STs are part of the game, you were giving the Pats O a ton of credit for the win. I was crediting the Pats D and STs. We played well defensively, FP won the game for you. The Pats O did a great job to ice it at the end but they didn't play a great game overall. Will you run and hide w/ this discussion like you did the other one we were involved in?

Wow! So the first time starter and the hof qb had pretty much the same game. If I was a Jet fan that would worry me a bit.
:breakdance: Except for that one little detail having to do with points. It's real funny how the mood has changed here, just last week Jet fans where telling us how old and slow our defense was, that our secondary would be torn apart by Lord Favre, and how our O-line couldn't block a slow rolling beach ball. You have to wonder what happens to Jet fans between the off-season and when games are played. :breakdance:
:breakdance: What does that have to do with the Pats O not beeing anything differnt from the Jets O, that didn?t deserve to win yesterday? :breakdance: We can talk about Football here and you leave that BS to the TT-Section, or you just don?t start any Footballrelated talk, your choice. And for the Record. I think that the Pats DL is just sick, Seymor-Wilfork-Warren is as good as it gets. And the LBs aren?t too shabby either. You guys just played a lot of bend don?t break last year, becaus you just had to run clock form mid 1st quater, i expect them to be a great D this year once again, when beeing let of the hook.
I've been talking football, even last week when you and many other Jet fans wanted to rub our noses in the fact that we lost Brady. As for the which O deserved to win, thats real simple, it's the one that scores more points. It's not rocket science, it's always the one that scores more points.
Regarding Revis on Moss, I can't believe he recovered on that bomb late in the game. Maybe it's where I sit, but from my angle Moss looked like he was long gone when Cassel threw the ball. I was shocked when Revis broke up the pass.
That was a bad pass, Moss still should have caught it but it was a terible pass or it's a TD. That was really Moss' only moment, Revis did a good job.
true. But it?s a lot easier to get in FG Range from midfield than putting together a long scoring drive. It?s as much or even more the STs that doesn?t deserve the win than the O. But who cares, we didn?t make some key plays, the Pats did, end of story. And i didn?t really comment Brady?s Injury at any time, my only real comment to the situation was this: http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=935255&postcount=5
