    What are you talking about?

Carpenter is so dominant. He hits hard, is a great pass rusher, and defends the pass well too. He has as high a ceiling as Manny Lawson. No question.

I wouldn't care between these guys. Manny Lawson is a BEAST. Bobby Carpenter would have and should have been more recognized had it not been for AJ Hawk, easily the best linebacker in this draft.

I have too agree with Hydroponics, I think Lawson has a higher ceiling then Carpenter. Lawson is taller, faster and stronger.

  5. Of the 3, I take Lawson due to the fact that he can play OLB in a 3-4 and DEin a 4-3. He has alot of athleticism and has room to grow into an even better athlete.

W/ that said all 3 bring some different assets to the table.

Lawson- Versatility, athleticism, big play ability
    Carpenter- Speed, smarts, toughness
    Howard- Speed, athleticism, and upside

Shouldn't even be a debate! Lawson has so much more talent its ridiculous.
Is anyone talking about Carpender going in the top 15? Hell no. Carpender should be at best a mid 2nd rounder-- Look at the other LB's Hawk, Lawson, Wimbley,Sims, Ryans, Howard, Jackson, Hodge, Greenway- thats 9 other guys we can chose from-- anyone who thinks we should take Carpender at 29 is nuts with all of that talent out there. At least 4 of those guys will be there at 35-- and in all honesty, I think everyone on that list is better than Carpender.

First off is that even english?
    Carpenter's 40 is 4.70.
Lawson's 40 was 4.46 very fast for a guy that size. Only found his 40 time on NFL.com but that just seems wrong it is to fast.

now if we decide to trade to detroit we can pick up their 40th pick.

I am saying we pick up V. Davis 4.37 42 inch vert and 33 reps
at 29th Lawson LB 4.43 6'6 245 brings us size versatility and speed
at 35th Watson DT 335 pounds great pick up can clog the hole
at 40th Howard LB 4.40 6'3 245 brings us speed and size
at 74th Whitworth OT can be a solid RT
at 91st O'Callahan OG can be a great RG

Trading to detroit is not so bad
The Nfl is evolving we need speedy type linebackers. I can see if Howard had speed but not size but he has more than enough size. This is who the jets should draft
we can easily sign/draft a center to take care of that need (Esslinger,Faine etc)

This takes care of the O line and the 3-4 and the TE

I'd probably say Lawson, but I'd be very happy with Carpenter. Either one would be great for our defense.

Carpenter would probably be the rookie ready to play with less mistakes thatn the other two but both Lawson and Howard have much more upside due their incredible speed and athleticism. Howard is bright but is still learning the LB position. He is a very hard hitter but a little slow in recognizing plays. As a former DB he is easily the best in coverage and this is an area where Lawson has little or no experience.

I'll be happy with any if them but I'd prefer Lawson or Howard.
