Guys and Gals, As a 40 year fan and JetFighter as a 35 year fan you who have not gone this long must try and be more understanding. More then likely he will be back because when your a Jet fan that long your like a junkie, you just can't quit. Yet, if this staff gets outcoached by the Worm's and his bunch, then this could damage any chance Mangini and this present staff, ever have of doing well in NY.
You'd think a game like this has never happened to the Jets before. So what if our OC can't gameplan his way out of a laundry room and our HC is too busy trying to emulate his former boss. These are the Jets. Sometimes we get lucky.
If Jetfighter wants to not be apart of the team until a new regime comes in, then I'm not blaming him.
typeO, no one is saying that. The point is that if someone quits the Jets after all the pain because of a bad game against a bad team, that's very sad. This is awful to see and I don't expect us to make the playoffs. But so? I'm numb to it. I'm a Jets fan. I'm not quitting on the team because we're playing like Herm's chicken without a head.
I understand. I too have been watching them for 40 - since '68. I suffered through all the heartbreaks since the Heidi Bowl. If there is some odd negative statistic, the Jets own it. If there are some milestones a player has achieved, they've done it against the Jets. If something weird and bad happens in a game, it always goes against the Jets. The fake spike is the epitome of the ack of discipline and focus the Jets own in the NFL. I know Detroit is the doormat of the league, but the Lions is all that city has. The Giants own this town and always will as long as the Jets play Jet Football.
I don't blame him either. What's amusing is the reacton here. What are the Jets anyway? What is your allegiance to? 53 football players that could be playing for another team next year? Eric Mangini? Mike Tannenbaum? Woody Johnson? The colors green and white? Bottom line...this is just entertainment and 100% irrelevant in the scheme of things. This is the equivalent of paying money to watch a highly-touted movie only to see that it sucks. Except in this case, the movie lasts all year.
We always let the back up QB or third string QB or backup towel guy beat us. Where notorious for that except this time favre got us back the W. He's gotta lay off throwing 98 yard bombs into triple coverage atleast a little.
I can't really blame him. Everybody has their breaking point and this season has proved to me that this team won't be going very far.
Just more of the same old shit we've watched since 1971. Isn't that the very definition of insanity??
This is what pushed you over the edge - not the Mud Bowl, the fake spike game, Kottie tenure, Todd's INT at the goal line vs. Buffalo in 81, Leon Johnson's intercepted option pass, our choke in Denver in the AFC championship game, but this game? Gimme a break dude.
