^^^I thought that at least some of you guys might get a kick out of this. I am a die-hard Bears fan, as you might be able to tell from my username, but I have never had a beef with the Jets or their fans. I am an old-timer, and I don't know how many old-timers are on this board, so I might be the only guy who remembers some of these names: Walton, McNeil, Lyons, Toon, O'Brien, Ryan, Gastineau, et. al., but I am sure at least some of you guys remember those names. Anyway, enjoy the video guys. It was a great season.
Hi, and welcome! Just putting you on notice that Chicago is going to take us to the cleaners. Not really sure what you mean by old timers. First off, how old are YOU? At least some us guys remember these names, lol. Anyway, contributions from fans of other teams are more than welcome, and meaningful discussion is way open. On a very serious note, William Perry is in a really bad way. It's very sad. I'm talking very sad. I think something happened with his SB ring, and then he re-sold it, and his brother just kind of babysits him because his mind is half gone. Yeesh.
I just thought it was CTE/dementia. I never knew that Guillain-Barre could cause dementia or vice-versa, just that it affected nerves and could cause lymphoma - or that many people who develop lymphoma have it. Poor guy. EDIT @forevercursed: I meant Epstein-Barr re: lymphoma. Duh. I got my disease lines crossed. Just wanted to correct that.
Thanks for the post. It was a great season. It ended in heartbreak but hey – were known for that. So many injuries hurt us that season but it was still a banner year. Yes younger Jets fans, there was a season where we started 10-1. Freeman McNeil was one of the great and under rated RBs in our history and Johnny Hector sure had his moments.
Thanks for the post and link. It's always nice to share memories with old fogies like me! The '86 and '82 teams are the best since the SB crew IMO. They dwarf anything that came afterwards.
