Wasn't sure where to put this so please move it if necessary.

Saw an article on NFL.com about the what changes team would make if re-drafting in 2009. The article stated that the Jets would've picked up Arian Foster over Mark Sanchez.

If we did have a delorean, would be draft Arian over Mark? If yes, would we still have gone to back to back afccg?

    Thoughts?

Arian Foster was an UDFA. Sanchez was the 5th overall pick. If anything I still would've picked up Sanchez and then grabbed Foster in rd. 6-7 knowing what we know about him now.

The Jets had no QB going into the 2009 draft, courtesy of the Brett Favre leap the year before. If they didn't trade up for Sanchez they probably trade up for Freeman, just not quite as high. Amazingly the trade costs them about the same amount given the Jets gave up so little hard value for the 5. Lots of depth but low value.

  4. Yeah, sorry. Foster is a great running back but he went undrafted.Meanwhile the jets were desperate for a young QB prospect.

This is a knowing what we know now type of deal. Can't hate on getting the NFL's best RB.

You do realize he is writing that purely to piss you off so he can continue to toil away?

Ill find you Jason Smith....one day.

  9. What he wrote is laughable. Not even worth the paper it's written on.Sanchez was without question a first round talent and although he isn't perfect, 3 years in he still looks the part of a first round QB.

Who did they say would be QBing for the Jets, a three year retired Pennington? Maybe Favre? Idiotic articles.

While this article tries to be slightly though provoking by redoing a draft after viewing the players for 3 years, it doesn't take into account the needs of the teams 3 years ago. The Jets had no QB (well Clemens and Ratliff), but had Kris Jenkins, Revis, Mangold, Brick, Thomas Jones etc etc. They needed a QB.

heheh so true, I logged in nfl to post a vitriolic response (if I could fit it in amongst the 101 "my aunty makes $500 a day working from home" and "hahah I just got a free NFL jersey of my choice" spam posts) then realised that it would be as pointless as trying to explain to poster on TGG why it is that the Jets havent signed that elite pass rusher we have so obviously needed since rex arrived.

Funniest part out of all of this is that in his Redo for 2010 he had the Jags select Tebow 10th overall.

So Sanchez falls to the 3rd round, and Tebow is a top 10 pick... I honestly think he’s on crack.

My bad, the 2010 Redo was by Bucky Brooks... Either way, they are still on crack.
