So I stumbled upon an article that raised my eyebrows...NOT that the Giants would let it happen...but if it did... Would you take a stab at signing Eli Manning? The Story....
The only reason I would is to watch the people who hate the Giants the most make the same arguments for Eli that they made for Sanchez, but really no because he looks like he is mentally disabled and he sucks in the regular season and I'm tired of QBs that make September through January a painful guessing game
I think I just threw up a little, easily one of my most disliked QBs. Mostly because I watched him tear up at the draft because he didn't want to go to the Chargers. Whiny lil bitch imo.
The Giants won 2 superbowls with him at QB. If they aren't willing to pay him there must be a good reason for that. Never been overly impressed. He's not bad but not worth bigtime QB money either IMO.
No chance. He's one of the worst regular season QB's to ever win a Superbowl. Not worth the money that he's got, gets now and is gonna get in the future. He's had about 10 games of elite-ness in a 10 year career. PASS
Why waste time and money on another 2nd rate(IMHO) QB. Geno and who ever we add need the time and reps to bring it to the table in a true competition.
Not a chance in hell. Hes never won without elite receivers. He needs guys that can take short passes over the middle to the house or guys that can go up and grab any ball overthrown by a foot. Unless we draft two of those, Eli would be Geno.
Eli is a solid QB, if we still have no hope at QB and Eli shakes free I'd certainly be willing to bring him in. I highly doubt this happens though.
There's no chance he would ever come here anyway,He reminds me of a slighlty better version of Mark Sanchez
I think if NYG decided not to re-sign Eli and we showed interest he would play for us. He loves the area, he's comfortable here. if something happened and Brees got hurt I think he'd want to go to NO but outside of that I think if things broke down w/ NYG he would absolutely play here.
I'd evaluate my QB situation at the time Eli comes available and make my decision then. If Eli is cut tomorrow is he not better than what the Jets have right now? Even if the Jets draft Mariotta, by all scouting accounts he is at least a year away from contributing. So Eli would make a lot of sense compared to McCown, Cutler, Hoyer and all the other names thrown around.
Yea but he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that would want to disrespect the NY Giants orginiazation and there fans by coming to the Jets.....He won two Superbowls he will likeley retire a NY Giant anyway
he would, it wouldn't hurt his legacy w/ NYG. if NYG didn't want him he'd look at us. He's a competitor, it may not always come through but he'd be pissed if NYG dumped him.
