Skip Bayless says he has sources telling him that Tebow will be given every oppurtunity to win the starting job, and that Rex and the staff are pulling towards Tebow. I know its Skip he is a troll but just sayin' *shrug*
That's what I think. But (1) I think Sanchez deserves the respect of an incumbent who's gotten this team deep in the playoffs, and I don't intend to constantly harp on it or debate with Sanchez's fans; and (2) it will depend heavily on the play of Sanchez and Tebow, and it's a long way from actually happening. There will be many little intermediate subplots along the way. But I truly think there's a possibility that this "second offense" Tebow is running becomes the main one. He's very good. And I think one day soon the story will be "What the heck was Denver thinking, why didn't they just keep him and develop him more?"
Skip Bayless also laughed and called Mangini ridiculous when Mangini said Tebow could be used as a punt protector. I think Skip is a really smart guy, but the show forces him to take outlandish points and yell louder than anyone he is arguing against. It works because I watched it this morning.
Only fate will decide whether Tebow will become starting QB again, but as of now, Skip Bayless is full of s***.
Rex Ryan JUST said on SNY he is our backup QB. I'm sure skip "the lords prayer" bayless has some secret Christian spy network that knows the truth though.
Joe Namath sold his soul to the devil for Superbowl 3. Tim "Jesus/Moses/what-ever-you-believe-in" Tebow is here to break the curse! Nah, but really - I hope Sanchez succeeds. I can't stand Tebow and the clowns that come with him.
All last off season Elway said Orton would be the starter and then when the lockout ended they tried to trade Orton. I mean Rex Ryan and company told that backup QB that he would be the second guy then traded for Tebow.... I think the Jets brass may be doing the same thing with Sanchez. He is the starter because if they make him the backup his value goes to nothing and teams know it. BUT if they keep him the starter until he is traded it allows them to get more.. and they aren't worried about decreasing Tebow's value saying he is just the backup because they want him to be the guy. They aren't worried about Tebow's perceived value. Also, they may feel Sanchez is the best bet to start the season because he is the most experienced with the team.. but as Tebow gets acclimated that will change as the season goes along.. and teams will be more desperate to trade for for Sanchez closer to the start of the season especially if there are some injuries or other QBs fail.
Skip Bayless was a backup NFL head coach on a state champion NFL franchise in high school, he learned a lot about the mentality so he is just speaking from experience.
Taking what Skip Bayless says seriously is about the same as taking a crazy religious bum in New York seriously.
Here are some reasons the Jets are not planning on having Tebow as their starting QB this season: 1) Wayne Hunter... If you are planning on starting Tebow as your QB, then Wayne Hunter is now your blind side tackle, not Ferguson. I believe upgrading the RT would have been more of a priority if the Jets were planning son starting a left handed QB. 2)Tebow as the personal protector on the Punt team. You do not put your starting QB on the punt team where he has to block and make tackles, a lot of unnecessary punishment to a throwing shoulder of a QB, not to mention the body of a rushing QB.
