I couldn't pass up the deal on ps3s this week at Walmart. My son loves war games and is begging for Black Ops, but from what I have heard from my daughter's teenage guy friends and read online, it may damage him for life ;-) Any recommendations for 'T' games that are good war games, but won't warp my son's young brain into that of a serial killer?
not so sure there are war games appropriate for 8 year olds... Try to get him into some games like final fantasy where war is a constant but its not inappropriate for 8 year olds
He has COD 3, and Halo Wars for 360... so I am not opposed to a normal level of violence that is part of playing a war game. (And I don't let him play live with others, obvs) But the 'M' war games seem to be just crazily excessively over violent. I will check out FF, my brother thinks he won't like it because of all of the video clips you are forced to sit through.
that makes sense, but definately keep him offline for a few more years. As far as the FF games go, you either love them or hate them. I havent met anybody with a real middle ground. I would get him ff 10 to try, for a few reasons, one being that it is a great game, 2 being that it has been out for a while, so it is going to be much cheaper than the newer ones. If he likes it, you got him a great game for next to nothing, if he doesn't then you didnt drop 60 bucks for a game your kid hates.
If he only has COD 3 then why not consider COD modern warfare and modern warfare 2? Not sure if those if those ones are rated M or not Check gamespot.com.... you can look by genre the. Check the reviews and advisory ratings
Gran Turismo 5 is a good one if he's into cars and racing as most boys usually are. It's not the easiest game to play but there won't be any obscenities or murders to worry about considering his age.
I laughed at the title as I typed it. :lol: Grand Theft Auto? Ummm... I think I will wait until he's at least 11 before he starts curb stomping hookers. COD 3 is the only one that is rated T, that's why that is the only one he has. I picked up FF from Amazon, and I will prob get GT5 as well. Thanks guys for the suggestions!
lots of weird stuff goes on in black ops im not sure if he will be into it. i do know that 8yr old boys are online cause i hear them all the time i mute them most of the time.
Video games don't turn kids into killers - fuck the media for convincing people that they do after Columbine. Tell him it isn't real and he'll be fine.
