The last NYJ head coach that never lost 5 games in a row. Every HC since (Herm, Mangini, Rex, Bowles, Gase, Saleh) has lost at least 5 in a row at least once under their coaching tenure (Saleh did it each of the last 3 years although you could argue it wasn't his team after week 5 last year). I came into the season with low (but still too high) expectations. I say give AG at least two years regardless of how bad it looks this year.

Ya give him five years, especially with the trajectory that this team is heading in 0-5 can only be outdone by 0-6!

This may and it extremely had to come to terms with, possibly the worst team in Jets history, and that's saying something, this team has always been a losing franchise

people say he's lost the team, I counter that by saying he's never had them, I love AG as a person and a former Jet, but Jesus, he's a terrible coach.

So far I agree…he may be able to turn it around, but there are definitely red flags…this is a team that does not play smart, doesn’t look like they hustle or play hard, and neither of those are good signs about the so called culture he’s trying to bring in. The other red flag to me is that we’ve continue to see the same problems over and over and over. Nothing has improved. nothing.

I can give the coach the benefit of the doubt on a losing record as the talent is not top notch, but these two issues to me speak directly to coaching. Getting beat is one thing. Not trying, playing stupid, not improving at all anywhere…those are on coaching.

    Not a good look.

He gets this year…but if this team continues to play like this the rest of the way, I’d be absolutely fine with a one and done.

Yea I’ve posited that as well.

I think he made himself a meme before the team even met him, and so they don’t respect him.

On top of that, while he’s cutting guys to try and show accountability (and I do think they deserved to be cut), that particular kind of accountability isn’t sustainable.

I think the inmates are running the asylum.

I posted in another thread that I thought he lost the team already... I could be wrong but the results and the WAY the players execute (or lack thereof) speaks to that, IMHO.

Problem is that cutting guys isn’t much of a punishment…any of the good ones will sign with another team that will be better than us (because they are ALL better than us)…its actually a blessing in disguise for them
